You're not a nothing, you're a fucking badass
———————————————————————
I woke up feeling happy with the sun peeking through the curtains, and wrapped up in Shane's arms. For the first time in awhile I felt ready to face the day head on.
I was even going to be ready for school on time.
The only thing to rain on my parade was well the rain.
Because that meant Shane would want to drive the car instead of the bikes.
Which I protested too of course, but Shane was set on being safe.
To which I rolled my eyes at him, and tried to hide the blush that appeared on my cheeks when I thought about how he cared about me.
So after both of us eating breakfast we hopped into Shane's car and began heading to school.
Once I walked through the doors with him by my side everything finally felt somewhat normal.
He held my hand in his almost too scared to let go, but we finally had to part to our first hour classes.
The day flew by with him, Justin, and Hannah with me.
It was also just my luck that Alana was nowhere to be seen.
Even seeing Jasper could ruin my normal feeling day.
Well until I noticed the way he was always around, and was always staring at me.
Shane had noticed it too and they both got in each other's faces in gym.
It was bewildering to say the least.
I hadn't expected him to react to my big sob story that I let slip out on accident.
Yet here he was reacting.
His whole attitude and personality changed within a span of a weekend.
It was when I spotted him leaning against my locker staring at the ground that I knew for sure.
That I had triggered something in that cold dead heart of his.
School had ended 30 minutes ago so he was very obviously waiting for me.
His gaze snapped to meet Mine.
He pushed himself off of the locker and walked towards me.
He stopped in front of me looking down into my eyes with this intense look.
"I don't know what the hell you did to me Amber" he sighed running a hand through his hair staring at the ceiling.
"What do you mean?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
Then his gaze returned to my eyes and that's when my breath caught in my throat.
I knew that look.
I would know it anywhere.
The passion the certainty the love that burned in his eyes.
Its something I used to see everyday, but I had learned that it was all just a lie to deceive me.
To trick me into falling for him.
A trick that I fell for once, but refused to again.
"No just save your breath Jasper" I seethed staring him down.
"Whatever Little Love gesture your gonna tell me it's a lie I already know it's a lie" I stared into his gaze wanting to look away where was Shane.
"I won't fall for it I won't let you hurt me again" I spoke harshly.
He took a step forward.
Causing me to take a step back.
He took another step forward.
"Stay back Jasper!" I shouted.
He continued stepping towards me reaching forward and tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
For the first time in a long time I felt weak I felt small and I hated it.
He pinned me against the locker by my arms.
He started squeezing them hard.
"Stop Jasper that hurts!" I said in a panicked voice He just held on tighter.
"JASPER STO-" I started to shout but he pressed his disgusting alcohol tasting lips on mine.
That's when my instincts kicked in.
I kneed him right in the groin.
He released me and fell over at the pain.
"Amber?" I heard a voice call I whipped my head around to meet Hannah's gaze.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"What happened!" She exclaimed looking at jasper on the ground.
She walked to my side still staring at Jasper.
He slowly got up still clearly in pain.
"This conversation isn't over" he stated staring me down with a hard look.
Then he whipped around and stomped down the hall and turned into another.
"I'm glad I found you in time who knows what he would've done" Hannah said turning to me.
"Yeah he probably would've done more than kiss me" I said looking at the ground.
Hannah looked at me and then down to the evident hands imprinted into my arms.
"That son of a bitch" she whispered harshly hate burning in her eyes.
She slowly lead me out to the car where I told her what happened.
I was still dazed but when I told her about it I started to wonder what would've happened if she didn't show up.
I couldn't even bring myself to think about it.
