Taking the bandages off the next day was disorienting.
Aoi had come with her, as it was Saturday. She definitely felt happy to be outside, but she was even more excited to finally get the godforsaken bandages removed. After getting the bandages off, she had to blink a few times.
"Does anything seem different?" The doctor asked after a moment, allowing Miyo to reorient herself. She furrowed her eyebrows.
"..Blurry." She mumbled, trying to blink the fuzziness in her vision away. It didn't leave, but at least she could see. The doctor hummed, and stood up from her seat.
"You probably will have to get glasses or contacts. You're lucky you only have a moderate change in vision after that injury. Many people who come in with that kind of wound end up blind or mostly."
Miyo sighed and nodded. She could handle glasses or contacts. At least she could still see. The doctor took her to take an eye examination, before giving her mother the prescription for the glasses she needed.
She wouldn't be able to get contacts until a little while after getting glasses, but she would hopefully be able to get them before the entrance exam to Yuuei. If she had the glasses then, she'd run the risk of damaging them.
"Are you ready?" Her mother asked, smiling up at her. The years hadn't been friendly to her, and she developed a stress eating habit. Miyo gave a soft smile, even though it was slightly hard to see because of the blur.
She hummed her agreement, before taking Aoi's hand and walking to the car. The ginger haired girl helped Miyo so she didn't trip. Miyo felt a little pathetic for having to get help with something so simple, but she didn't voice her thoughts. They would be shot down at a moment's notice, by both Aoi and Izuku.
They took her prescription to the eye doctor, and she chose her frames. They were a dark green, and square framed. The glasses themselves would be ready in two to four days, so she had to deal with blurry vision until then.
Back at the house, Miyo was exhausted. She didn't know why. When Aoi had lied down on the bed, the first thing Miyo did was collapse onto the bed next to her, laying her head on Aoi's chest. Izuku was doing homework, but he did give the two a quick smile before getting to work.
"You're like a dog, you know that?" Aoi snickered, running her hands through Miyo's hair. She grumbled for a minute, before letting out a joking "woof".
Aoi just laughed, continuing to run her fingers through Miyo's light green locks. She couldn't help but sigh, the motions relaxing her. "Curse you and your knowledge of my weaknesses.." She mumbled. Aoi snickered again.
"Love you too."

Miyo was not enthusiastic about school the next day. She was tired, she couldn't see very well, and she didn't want to deal with Katsuki. Izuku had briefly mentioned that Katsuki hadn't gotten in too much trouble, only a mere scolding. Miyo had scoffed at that. Of course he didn't get in trouble, he was their school's 'golden child'. A great kid with a great Quirk who was going to go far in life. No one cared what he did.
Miyo only felt happy that Izuku was letting her come back to watch his early morning training. Not like she would be doing much 'watching', but it was still fun to go with him. She felt like an old lady crossing the street, what with Izuku helping her along.
All Might seemed to be enthusiastic about her coming back to watch, and gave her a few reassuring words when he heard about her vision.
"Your vision shall not hinder your ability to become a hero! There are plenty heroes who wear glasses!" He had said, letting out his booming laugh. Miyo nodded, smiling a bit. She sat next to the truck that Izuku would lug things to, watching the blurred masses of colors move. She sighed. It would be impossible to do anything in class, unless everything was within a foot of her face.
