The beginning of the new school year came quickly, quick enough to startle Miyo when she realized she only had two days until she had to start waking up earlier. Staring at the calendar built into her phone, her hand began to shake. She wasn't ready, not by a long shot.
Sure, she had all her supplies and everything she had needed. She had her uniform, and she had submitted the design for her hero costume ages ago. What she wasn't ready for was the early mornings- earlier than she used to wake up because she always went on morning runs. She wasn't ready for the suspense of who is in her class, or how they would treat her.
She knew Izuku was in her class, as was Katsuki (sadly). Aoi unfortunately ended up in class 1-B, the other hero course class. Miyo didn't know if Shinsou made it to the hero course at all, with how he struggled to defeat that one robot, along with his expression when she asked how he did. It didn't look good. With luck, he applied to General Studies as well. She hoped she could see him again, he seemed like someone it would be fun to be friends with.
Inko arched an eyebrow at her, catching Miyo off guard. "...Yes?"
"You were mumbling again." Inko said, placing the palm of her hand against her face as she tilted into it. "When did you and Izuku develop that habit?"
Miyo grinned sheepishly, shrugging. Something fell in front of her face, and she breathed it into her nose. Sneezing, a flurry of yellow...powder came fluttering down in front of her face, and she sneezed again.
"...Pollen," she ground out, glaring up through her eyelashes. It was April, so she knew she would eventually start pollinating. Of course her flowers pollinated, and of course she got seasonal allergies.
Izuku looked at her with a pitying smile from his spot on the couch, legs tucked under him as he read a book. Izuku, unlike Miyo, wasn't too allergic to pollen. She stuck her tongue out at him, slightly jealous. It wasn't like she couldn't handle it, it's happened every year since she was four.
All she did was double check to make sure she had a few extra packs of tissues in her white backpack. Then she froze. Her backpack was white, and pollen spread really easily. Her bag would be identical to Izuku's by the end of the week.
"Mom...do we still have whatever it is that you used to clean the pollen off my bag last year?"
She heard a sigh from her mother, followed by, "Yes, I believe so. I'll pick up some more later."
Her mother had been losing weight recently, finally beating her stress eating habit- for the most part. Miyo would occasionally take her running when Inko was up to it. Miyo was proud of her.
Sneezing again, she went through to make sure she had everything else she needed, along with making sure her uniform was hung up on the closet door for the day after tomorrow.
Maybe she could break the world record for longest sneezing fit. She wondered how long it would have to go on for it to break the current world record. What even was the world record?
Miyo dropped the thought before she thought about it too much, instead taking to changing into a yellow sweater─yellow for obvious reasons. She left the house, sliding her shoes on at the door and yelling out a "I'm going for a run!"
The air outside wasn't quite hot, but it wasn't cold. The wind blew in her face, and that chilled the air a little bit, but it was still relatively warm. She headed down the steps of the apartment complex, walking past the elevator completely. She usually took the stairs, only taking the elevator when necessary, like bringing groceries or other things up.
