Miyo had been staring at the bed for a long while, tuning All Might and her brother's voices out as they came to. She wished someone would hold her, like Izuku or her mother. She missed her mom's hugs, even though they'd seen each other earlier that morning. Wow. This whole fiasco only took place over a couple of hours... It had felt like so much longer.

The door slid open, and Miyo glanced up. Standing there in a long coat and hat, stood a tall man with a kind face.

"Excuse me," he said, nodding to Recovery Girl. "All Might, it's been a while."

"Tsukauchi! You're here too?" All Might exclaimed, sitting more upright. Miyo finally looked at the two, having spent the past hour staring at the ceiling or walls around her. He looked beaten up, in his non-transformed state, his torso wrapped in bandages.

The sight made her feel guilty, that she had been taken down so soon. That she was powerless to help them. That if she were more resilient, she could have possible, maybe, have prevented this.

In the bed in between All Might and Miyo, Izuku sat upright in his gym uniform, likely already healed by Recovery Girl. His dark green hair bounced as he moved around quickly, facing All Might in shock. "Is it all right to show yourself in that form..?" It was a thought that hadn't even crossed Miyo's mind. She needed to focus on the important things, clear her head. But that was impossible when everything seemed muddled, and felt like someone was taking a sledgehammer to her skull.

"Don't worry, it's fine. He's Naomasa Tsukauchi, my best friend in the force."

Tsukauchi chuckled. "What's with that introduction?" He joked, approaching the beds. Miyo wanted to say something, maybe ask for permission to leave. She felt out of place, but moving seemed like too hard of a task to do to escape the tension. She glanced out the window, blinking when she realized the sun was already going down, lighting the sky up in an orange hue. It was already that late, huh?

She really wished Hitoshi and Aoi had been allowed to stay, but the Akihiko's needed her home and Hitoshi wanted to visit his dad again. It was understandable, so she didn't argue. Didn't bring up the ache in her heart as the room filled with silence again.

When Miyo finally turned back around, Tsukauchi was gone and All Might was giving Izuku a thumbs up. She'd really need to work on her zoning out habits. All Might made eye contact with her, and she quickly cast her gaze down at her hands. The tension hadn't faded, and she was starting to feel trapped. Were the walls inching towards her or was she just being silly again..?

"Midoriya, how're you feeling?" He asked, tilting his head to peer around Izuku, who turned to face her as well.

Miyo gnawed on her lips a little, before managing out, "'M tired.." Which she was. Her eyelids drooped, and she so desperately wanted to sleep. But she couldn't, not with this concussion of hers.

Izuku reached out a hand and placed it on top of hers, even if he was halfway out of his bed. "You'll be able to sleep soon, Hana. Just hold on."

She nodded, turning her hand and squeezing her brother's. When would they be allowed to go home? She needed the comfort of her mother and brother and their apartment and their-

"Breathe," Izuku said, squeezing her hand tightly. It grounded her. Miyo took slow breaths in, and out. She felt her heart rate slow down, evening out. "There you go, you're getting there."

Miyo nodded quickly, continuing the breathing exercises, and oh, this is is embarrassing, she nearly had a panic attack in front of the number one hero.

"How- How're the others?" She managed out, forcing herself to look up.

"Everyone else had minor or easily treatable injuries, minus you three and the other two teachers there with you," Recovery Girl said, walking into the room with plastic cups filled with water on a tray. "Drink, you three have been in here a while. As for the Midoriyas, your mother will be here shortly. She seemed terrified when she heard what happened, do be careful."

Izuku glanced over at Miyo, before nodding at Recovery Girl. He pulled away, sitting back on his bed and sipping at his cup. Miyo accepted the water, taking large gulps. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't eaten in a while. She hoped her mother was willing to make a large dinner, she was starving.

"Miyo! Izuku!" Their mother exclaimed as they exited the school building, Izuku supporting Miyo as she limped along, the puncture wounds in her left leg too risky to heal. Inko Midoriya scurried over to them, holding a handkerchief. Judging by her swollen eyes and reddened face, she'd been crying. The sight sent another pang of guilt through Miyo. They'd made their mom cry so much recently, it wasn't fair. Another consequence of her lack of skill. She'd need to up her training hours at the dojo.

"Mom.." Izuku breathed out, letting go of Miyo to hug the older woman. Miyo hobbled over and joined them, burying her face in her mother's hair, inhaling the comforting scent.

"You two...to think you had to be caught up in this.."

Miyo pulled away, looking down at her. "It's okay, Mom. We're okay." Well, mostly okay. Her leg was starting to ache, and her head still throbbed.

Inko nodded vigorously. "Yeah. Yeah, you'll be okay. Come on, I made a big dinner, you must be starving."

Thank the lord for her mother. Miyo hummed tiredly to voice her agreement, allowing Izuku to slip back under her arm and hold most of her weight. Fatigue weighed down her body, and she felt herself becoming sluggish.

When Miyo was strapped into the backseat, Izuku next to her, she let her mind wander. She couldn't possibly be related to Thorn, could she? Susumu seemed to know him, but how in the world did Thorn know her? She'd never met him in her life.

By the time Miyo came out of her thoughts, Izuku was helping her out of the car and up the elevator.

Okay, so, this was a lot shorter than the other chapters (four pages instead of seven), but I hadn't posted in ages and needed to get this out for the ones who've been waiting months for an update.

Sorry for such a long wait! I finally got my hands on a laptop that works and hopefully I'll be able to update more! I also have an original story idea in the works, so maybe expect that soon? Dunno.

Have a nice day, lovelies!
