Melody blinked. Did he just slam the door on her face? The door swung open again. "Drat your still here. Tell me when your gone." The door swung shut.
The door swung open, "Actually don't tell me when your gone because you'll be gone." The door swung shut.
Melody stood there for a few seconds. She was confused. Then she pulled open the door. "Why did you slam the door in my face?"
The man replied, "Sorry about that." and then slammed the door in her face, again.
Melody opened the door, "STOP SLAMMING THE DOOR IN MY FACE!" She yelled.
The man scratched his head. "SORRY. WHY DON'T YOU COME IN?" He shouted to her.
Melody stared at him, "I DON'T COME IN BECAUSE YOU KEEP SLAMMING THE DOOR IN MY FACE!" She screamed at him.
The man shouted, "WHY ARE WE YELLING?"
Melody frowned and shrugged. The old man smiled. "Okay come in. My name is Bernie."
"Hi Bernie." Melody politely greeted.
The man looked confused. "Why did you call me Bernie?"
"Because that your name!" Melody cried exasperated.
"No its not! Who said that?" The man questioned.
"You." Melody informed.
"Me?" asked the man pointing to himself. "When?"
Melody sighed. She was getting no where. "Nevermind." She sighed. "I need some help. My friend needs healing."
The man who's name was possibly Bernie shook his head. "Can't. I'm retired."
Melody groaned. "How can you retire?" She took out her piece of paper and stared at it. She scanned through it and noticed tiny letters at the bottom. May be unwilling to help (Is retired). Always read the small print Melody thought without humour. "How about if I gave you some money?" Asked Melody. The man shook his head. "I'll show you a spell that turns spiders to dust?" The man considerd but shook his head. Then his glasses fell off his nose. Cursing he bent to retrieve them but he tripped on his beard. "Do you ever think of getting it cut off?"Melody asked before she could stop herself. She knew it was rude but couldn't resist asking.
"Can't" He mumbled. He place his glasses back on his nose.
"Why not?" Melody questioned.
"Because it won't let me." He replied.
Melody sat there mystified. "What?"
"Fine! I'll show you." He grabbed a pair of scissors and snipped off a few locks. Immediately they reattached like he'd never cut it off.
"If you help me." Melody started. "I'll make a spell to stop your beard regrowing." She proposed.
The old man looked exited. "Really? Sure I'll do it! Oh, wait, no can't. Sorry" He looked disappointed.
"Why?" Melody asked.
"The Agreement."
