Im-Mali's Love

Amara's POV

I love my home, from the clear beaches to the jungles mountain peaks, the island of Im-Mali has always been my first love. In my 25 years of life I have yet to meet anything or anyone that could over shadow that love. 

I apologize for rambling but in order to properly introduce myself, I must let you know the most important things in my life.

Before I was born my sperm donor decided that a child was never something that he never wanted and left my mother in the middle of the night claiming to have another woman. My mother the epitome of strength never shed a tear, but only said " He merely realized that he never deserved such treasures as us." That one statement that has never and will never leave my mind. I am a treasure , I must be earned. 

But I'm getting off track; my mother Kanai raised we while attending school - she had no intention of giving us a mediocre life. She already had a business degree but she wanted to care for others. My mother at the ripe age of 35 and I was only 2 has earned a her certification for a multitude of medicinal areas. Her plan was to open her own clinic with herbal/holistic options. I know she's BADASS right. No one in these so called "advanced" countries would support her until she started pushing her ideas worldwide. Eventually the Chancellor if Im-Mali reached out offering her one of the few medical facilities that the island had but was shut down. She jumped at the chance. We moved to Im-Mali by the time I turned 4 and the rest was history .

For the rest of my life I watched my mother heal others without care of payment but only to provide health. We lived comfortably and I received the best education possible. I graduated for high school at age 14 and finished my medical degree at age 21 specializing in tropical medicine.
While I was studying abroad for my degree I and a few others were taken by extemists looking to create biological weapons. Those captives that fought or didn't survive their treatments were burned to death. They thought I wouldn't make it so into the fire I went . Instead of burning , I was thriving. I became the flames and controlled them. I broke out my fellow prisoners and burned that place to the ground. For some reason I never panicked , I only felt strong and in control. My spirit was ablazed.

When I finally returned home I shared my experience with my mother and after we cried together and accepted what happened - She told me the oath I chose to take was my own decision. I decided to stay on Im-Mali working in my mother's clinic. And when the time came for it I would use my abilities to help the other people on our island.
The people named me Blaze eventually people found out who I am and that only reassured them more. I can't go anywhere on the island without anyone knowing me.

Even though I stayed on my island doesn't mean that I'm not aware of the worlds events. I saw the rise and fall of the Avengers. I prayed for them. These so called accords seemed unbalanced in their plans. I understand the need for accountability but why would you risk the lives of the individuals willing to protect this earth by putting all of their personal information on display. There are sick individuals in this world who wouldn't hesitate kill or harm their loved ones for revenge. That's why when I was approached by this Secretary Ross about signing I declined and my people supported me.
Now that fool is coming here to persuade me and is bringing along others. I am not looking forward to this shit
