T'Challa POV
Since Amara gave me her number , I have taken every opportunity to speak with her. She is truly an amazing woman. For someone to remain so kind and intelligent after all the pain she has suffered only caused for me to care for her more.
In the two week that we have been here, I have only seen Amara in person , alone, four times but we have spoken on the phone almost every night.
It might sound foolish but this woman has me in awe , it felt as though Bast had taken the time to craft a soulmate for me. Even with Nakia - I have never felt such affection.
I am a man, and it would be a bold faced lie to say that I wasn't physically attracted to her, but even so her mind is what makes me want to stay wrapped in her forever.
Amara is passionate, kind-hearted, strong willed ; she is the embodiment of fire itself.
I've also come to notice the effect she has had on my teammates as well. Tony and the Captain do not fight as often with her present, Okoye and Natasha relax and enjoy the life surrounding her, and Bucky seems to find some solace in her kind aura. She seems to bring peace every where she goes.
Today she has invited us to observe her clinic, while we have not gotten her to agree to the accords, she has offered an unused area in her clinic for us to use for injuries, ailments, or illnesses. At least she was willing to work with us- even if it wasn't the original plan.
We were planning to leave in the next few days and I had no intention of leaving this island without asking for her hand.
The group of us entered the clinics main waiting area , once again drawing a large amount of attention. It was fairly calm, patients seemed to be in excellent hands. We received a pleasant greeting from Amara's mother - which was a huge improvement from our initial treatment.
Suddenly there was a shout from the nurses desk,
" Incoming GSW (gunshot wound) from the west side- Amara is in the van with them stabilizing him, but we need two units of O in operating room 1 ASAP!!!"
You could probably imagine the nurses and staff running to prep the room and grab the necessary supplies for surgery.
" Looks like we've come at and interesting time; We'll see firecracker in action. She did say she rarely does surgical procedures," Tony commented.
" Does now seem like the right time for our observation maybe we should come back tomorrow, less stress on Amara," Bucky suggested
Suddenly the emergency doors burst open and the techs are wheeling the patient in and to everyone's surprise there is Amara sitting on top of them applying chest compressions. She never looked up , but began shouting orders as they moved to the operating room.
" Get that blood hooked up and circulating, his bag is in the truck contact his family and get the respiratory team down here !!!!"
The doors slammed shut behind them and we sat there silently waiting like all the rest to hear if the man survived or not.......
