A/N this chapter includes a little bit of a time jump just to improve the direction the story will head. And of course Amara's engagement ring is posted above. I'll also be including a few more votes in the upcoming chapters.
T'Challa POV
Amara has been living with me in Wakanda for almost 7 months. Including the time I spent in Im-Mali I am 100% sure that she is the one I wish to have by my side for the rest of my life. Everyday that I spent with Amara Dayo Okafor the more I fell in love. Her middle name makes perfect sense. When she came into my life - joy did arrive. Every morning I woke up excited to see her smile , hear her laugh, listen to her speak about her ideas. And when we make love I can't help the pride I feel to be the only one she trusts to give her whole self too.
The biggest hardship I've had to face is the one weekend a month where she returns home to check on her mother and visit her old friends.
This just happens to be one of those weekends- she'll be returning later tonight but before she arrives there is an important call I have to make.
I never thought I'd be so frightened to speak to one person. But I do know that I cannot move forward without having Amara's mother approve of us being together.
" Well if it isn't the king of Wakanda, what can I do for your sugar ?"
" Good afternoon Katara I was just hoping to have you answer a quick question for me ,"
" If this is the question I think it is , I already have a answer for you hunny, or should I say hubby?" She asked with a chuckle.
" Yes it is exactly the question you think it is,"
There was a long pause and I thought my heart would suddenly leap out of my chest. And just when I thought I would receive a giant NO- Katara began smiling like the Cheshire Cat.
" It's about damn time boy, do you know how long I've been waiting for Amara to show up here with a ring on her finger? My little is nothing but smiles and giggles whenever you name is mentioned,"
Hearing that put a boost in my confidence for tonight.
" I love your daughter very much and I will spend the rest of my life making sure that she is happy. I swear this to you Katara,"
She looked at me smiling , " I have no doubt about that, but what I want you to swear is that I'll get some grand children as soon as possible!"
" That is guaranteed,"
We hung up after that and I felt 1000x better knowing that Katara approved of our union. Now to just get Amara to say yes
