Savannah's P.O.V.

"Jake, which shirt do you think he'll like more?" I asked my brother as we stood in the bedroom Ricky and I shared. He was coming back from a long tour and I wanted to surprise him with a nice evening together.

"I've only met him a couple times, but I think he'd like the black and gray lace top." he replied. "But then again, I have no idea. He's your boyfriend, not mine."

"Well I know that," I laughed. "I know he likes both, but I can't decide which one to wear."

"Well if you know he likes both, then why'd you ask me?"

"I wanted your input," I replied, setting the lace shirt on the bed.

"Well if you--" he was suddenly cut off by the sound of the front door closing.

"He's home!" I whispered. "Quickly, try to get to the front door without him seeing you! I can't let him know you helped me!"

He quietly sprinted down the hall, passing Ricky at the end. Ricky gave him a surprised look, which quickly turned to anger when he saw what room Jake came from. I tried to finish cleaning up the bedroom before he walked in but he stopped me midway.

"Hey baby," I said, surprised. "Why are you home so early?"

"Who the hell was that?" he growled.

"Oh, him? He's just--"

"Your boyfriend?" he snapped. "Are you cheating on me?"

"What?" I was in shock at his accusation. "No, Ricky, he's--"

"I leave to go on tour and come back to find you with someone else?" he came towards me. "I get that you're needy, but this is ridiculous."

"Rick, would you just listen to me?" I raised my voice as he stepped a bit closer.

"How could you do this to me?! I love you, and you go and do this?"

"Ricky, please..." I began, only to be cut off by his hand colliding harshly with the side of my face. I fell to the ground as I realized what he just did. He stormed out of the room, slamming a door down the hall.

I stayed on the floor for a moment, everything that just happened sinking in. How could he do this? I would never cheat on him, and he knew that. I pulled myself to my feet and quickly walked to the front door. I opened it to find it pouring down rain. At this point, I didn't care. I needed to get out of there.

I went out in the rain, walking six blocks to Chris's house. He would be able to help me. He was my best friend, someone I could depend on. I was soaked to the bone by the time I made it to his house.

I knocked on his door, and when he opened it, his eyes widened in shock. "Oh my god, Savannah. What are you doing? You're gonna get sick!" He pulled me inside and closed the door behind us.

"What's wrong?" he asked, looking into my eyes. My vision was blurred from a mix of tears and rain, and I was unable to choke out more than a sentence.

"Ricky...he...he hit me."

"What?" Chris gasped, pulling me into a hug. "What do you mean, he hit you?"

"We got into an argument and he hit me," I sobbed. He pulled me into a hug, his warm embrace slowly heating my chilled body.

He released his grip on me and led me to the couch. "Now tell me exactly what happened." he instructed.

I told him what had happened, his expression becoming more and more concerned as he listened. "And he didn't even let me say anything. That guy was my older brother, not my boyfriend. I would never cheat on Ricky." I finished.
