I was sitting at my computer, struggling to find the next word to add to my essay. I began to zone out until I felt hands run from my shoulders down the front of my torso. I froze and looked up to see Ricky smiling down at me. I smiled back as he clasped his hands around my stomach and lowered his lips to my neck. I smiled a bit wider and turned to kiss his lips. He sat down beside me and looked at my laptop. "What're you working on?" he asked.

"A paper for my English class," I sighed.

"Take a break," he instructed gently, taking my hand and lacing it with his.

We talked for a bit before Ricky's phone buzzed. "It's a text from Chris. He said he's here to pick me up and take us to the studio." He stood and pulled me up with him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. He nuzzled his face in my neck and placed a soft kiss where my neck met my shoulder.

"Hey how are ya?" A loud voice bellowed as a friend of mine, Danny, walked over. Ricky pulled his head away from my neck and we looked at the guy. I felt his grip tense a little.

"Did I interrupt something?" Danny asked, placing his bag across from mine.

"Uh, kinda," Ricky said, an undertone of annoyance coming through his voice.

Ricky's phone chimed again. "Chris is getting annoyed I'm not out there."

I smiled. "Go have fun in the studio." He leaned down and kissed my lips gently yet forcefully. I broke away and noticed him glaring at Danny. I sighed and pulled Ricky over to the far corner of the room. "What is your problem with him?" I whispered.

"The way he looks at you." His eyes flickered between me and Danny, who looked confused.

"He and I have nothing between us. He's a friend. Nothing more." I assured him, pulling him close to me. He nuzzled his face in my neck again, pulling my body closer to his. "I'm sorry," he mumbled. "You know how I am with you around other guys."

"Nobody is going to take me from you. Hell, someone is more likely to take you from me."

He pulled away from my neck and kissed my forehead. "Nobody is taking me from you, ever." He looked into my eyes and smiled.

"And I'll never love another man," I smiled. He kissed my forehead and loosened his grip on me. "Now I really gotta go before I piss off Chris any more than I have." He gave me one more sweet kiss before leaving.

I walked back to the table, earning a raised eyebrow from Danny. "Is he your boyfriend?"

I nodded, a smile on my lips.

"He looks like he hates me."

"He sometimes gets like that," I shrugged. "He doesn't hate you. He's just a bit protective of me."
