I sat at my computer and began recording on the screen. I pulled up Skype and called Ryan for an interview. Internally, I was fangirling so hard. I've wanted to interview him and the rest of Motionless In White for years, and now I was able to interview one of them. On the outside, I was retaining composure.
Ryan's face appearing on the screen moments later and he smiled. I always loved his smile. "Hey. Savannah, right?"
"That's me," I nodded.
"Nice. So, what is this interview for?"
"I'm trying to get an internship at AP magazine, and they insist on interview experience. You guys were the first band I thought of."
"Well, I'd love to help if I can," he said, flashing that smile again.
"Okay," I shuffled papers on my desk until I found the right one. "I should probably mention that I'm recording this so I can go back and catch anything I missed while writing." I noted.
"Whatever helps you," he said.
"Okay, the first question is, 'How does it feel to know your band has influenced so many people in a positive manner?'"
He thought for a moment. "I find it very flattering to know that people look up to us. We try our hardest to do what's best for us and the fans, so knowing that we have such an impact is great."
I nodded, taking down as much as I could from what he said.
"Ok, so--" I was cut off by the loud meow from my black cat as he jumped on the desk, blocking my view of the screen. Ryan laughed, saying, "It looks like we have a visitor."
I picked my cat up and placed him on the floor, scratching his ears. "Go away, kitty. I'm working."
"Sorry about that," I said.
"No problem," he replied with a slight laugh.
"As I was saying," I continued. "How do you like writing on the new record?"
"I really like it," he said. "It's a lot different from what we're used to. We're used to lyrical content from Chris and Rick, but I think it'll be a bit more diverse when I contribute."
"I'm looking forward to it," I said. "So what is it like to be in a band with the others? I assume you guys get along pretty well?"
"Hey can I bring Rick over to help me answer this question?" I nodded and he turned to yell off camera. "Hey Rick! Come here!"
"What?" Ricky asked, walking into view of the screen. He looked at me and then back at Ryan. "New girlfriend?" he asked.
Ryan's face turned red. "No, it's an interview. I wanted your input on a question." Turning his attention to me, he asked me to repeat the question. I did so, and both guys looked to each other for a moment.
"It's certainly...interesting working in this band," Ricky began. I wrote as he spoke, noting who said it.
"I don't think any of us could see ourselves doing anything else, though," Ryan added.
Ricky nodded. "Am I needed for anything else?" he asked.
I shook my head. "I don't think so."
Ricky stood, leaving the room. "Have fun with your girlfriend!" he teased as he left.
"She's not my girlfriend!" Ryan shouted back.
