I was standing in front of the mirror in the school bathroom, fixing my hair. I heard someone walk in and forcefully push me to the side and I hit the wall. "Hey, what are you--" I started before being pushed again.

"Shut up you emo bitch!" the girl snarled. My blood boiled as I pushed her back. Bad idea. The girl grabbed a handful of my hair and slammed my face onto the porcelain sink, the faucet cutting my forehead. My head was lifted back up and my nose was shattered and pouring blood. She threw me face-first into the opposite wall before leaving. There was a huge splatter of blood where my nose hit the wall and I collapsed to my hands and knees, watching the blood form on the floor.

After a moment, the bell rang, and I tried to get off the floor. Three girls came in and one of them shrieked before leaving to get a teacher. The other two rushed to me, seeing the blood and asking questions. I nodded that I was okay, but I really wasn't. I lost all feeling in my face and blood was running down my nose and mouth and down my neck.

More girls gathered in the bathroom as the teacher walked in. She gasped and grabbed onto my arm, asking if I was okay and who did this. I didn't know who did it. I wiped the majority of the blood from my face with a tissue and began stumbling out of the bathroom, holding a tissue beneath my nose. "You need to go home," the teacher instructed. I nodded and went to collect my things from the library before leaving.

I walked into my downstairs living room and saw Ricky and Vinny sitting on the couches, scrolling through their phones. Ricky looked up first with a smile, which immediately faded when he saw my broken nose. "Oh my god, what happened?" He rushed to me, Vinny joining him. They both looked panicked and scared. I set my bags down and held onto the wall. I had lost so much blood that I was about to pass out. Ricky noticed too, and placed one arm around my waist to keep me on my feet.

"I got into a fight," I said breathily, trying hard to stay conscious. I was still bleeding somehow. I was afraid I was going to bleed to death.

"More like somebody beat the shit out of you," Vinny pitched. I nodded, my knees buckling. Ricky picked me up and laid me on the couch, Vinny sitting beside me.

"How the hell did that happen?" he asked. Ricky had left the room to get his car started. I shrugged, unable to speak. My eyes began to close, unconsciousness trying to swallow me. "Savannah, stay with me!" he patted my cheek, trying to keep me awake. "Rick!" he called. Ricky rushed into the room. "What?" he asked.

"We're losing her!" Vinny looked scared as he tried to keep me awake.

"The car's ready," Ricky said. "We need to get her to the hospital." Vinny nodded, picking me up and carrying me to the car.

Ricky drove us to the hospital, where I was "diagnosed" with a shattered nose bridge and major blood loss. Vinny shook his head, holding my hand. The doctor eyed us, assuming he and I were dating. I'm not dating either guy I was with. They were just close friends of mine.

We drove back home, my head still spinning from the blood loss. I stumbled inside with Ricky's help and laid on the couch. He sat on the edge of the couch and brushed the hair from my face with a sad smile. "You need to take it easy, okay?" he said softly. "You're not going to school tomorrow."

"I need to go. I have tests."

"Screw school. You're not going." Vinny said sternly, crossing his arms over his chest. "You nearly gave us heart attacks coming home looking like that. We're keeping you under our watch until we know you're well enough."

"But guys--" I began.

"Don't argue," Ricky said. "Now get some sleep. You've had a rough day." He kissed my forehead before leaving the room. I pulled a nearby blanket on myself before Vinny sat down beside me on the couch.

"You have no idea how stressful this was for us," he began, taking my hand. "Ricky was freaking out about you, and I was too. We seriously care about you. You're like a little sister to us and we want to protect you. You can't be getting into fights without us around," he smiled a bit. "But seriously, you need to stay home tomorrow. We need to make sure you're okay." He kissed my forehead as well before leaving and turning off the lights.
