A FLYER in the shade of pastel yellow was in the hands of Dane Ramsey as she sat in a rusted orange chair that creaked every time she shifted from one side to the other. It was silent in the room as she awkwardly met the eyes of two dudes that sat on the couch across from her. One of them had dreads tied back with a white scrunchie that reminded her of Tito from Rocket Power, he was also the one who answered the door. The one next to him had a head of blond hair but was dark at the roots, he was currently sitting in the middle, one leg balled up under him and a Nintendo in his hands with his tongue sticking out in concentration.
Tito was currently staring Dane down as she did not back down from his stare before he let a smile spread over his face, "Enough of this waiting shit!" He pushed himself up to stand and pace the floor.
"So let me get this straight, you're a girl."
"Last I checked and identified with."
"Named Dane. Like Great Dane?" Tito clarified while Dane slowly nodded as a short boy entered the room holding two glasses of juice, he held it out to her silently before walking to take a spot on the couch ignoring Tito's outstretched hand for the glass.
Dane held the glass in her hand as she stared up at the tall boy, "Gee, haven't hard that one before."
"I think it's hard." The guy who handed her the glass stated before taking a sip from the glass, "Nobody wants a basic name."
Dane agreed with that, and always thanked her dad for naming her instead of going with "Emmaline" like her mother originally wanted.
"Says the dude named Nick Carter."
"Nick" sucked his teeth at Tito who grinned, faint dimples appearing on both sides of his cheeks, "you know I'm just fuckin' with you, Nicholas."
"And I told you, Caleb you're gonna fuck with me way too many times and you'll start to regret it." Nick threatened while he pointed at "Caleb" from around the glass he was holding.
Dane didn't mind the current banter that was going on between Nick and Caleb as she figured this was probably the norm between the two. The curly haired young woman cautiously took a sip from the square class then lowered it, "...so what exactly are we waiting for?"
"The two other dudes listed on the flyer," the blond answered keeping eyes on the device in his hands, "they should be here any minute."
"Yeah. We literally just put that AD up this morning." Nick replied making Dane raise a brow, it's only going on two o'clock in the afternoon. Was she the only person who saw the post?
Dane took another sip from her drink, "so you're Nick, and you're Caleb? I don't remember reading that name on the flyer."
The tall one looked over his shoulder smiling at his friends before moving to take a seat on the coffee table to face the brown beauty before him, "You're right...it could be a nickname but can you match names to faces between me and my buddy here?
