3 days later...
...Sometimes I wanna roll or stay at home
Walking contradiction, guess I'm factual and fiction
A little crazy, little sexy, little cool
Little rough around the edges but I keep it smooth
I'm always left of center and that's right where I belong
I'm the random minor note you hear in major songs
And I like that
I don't really give a fuck if I was just the only one
Who likes that
I never like to follow, follow all around, the chase is on
Oh me, oh me, oh me, oh myDANE SWIRLED her tongue around a raspberry lollipop, clapping on beat then whining her hips. She was up in her new room, it had only been three days since she met the boys that followed the motto of "doing all things pretty. The pretty way." Dane didn't have to do much to win the stamp of approval of the boys, it was clear that they were desperate at having another roommate to chip in paying these high bills. After the "interview" Dane didn't even make it half way down the street to her car before her phone was ringing, Brandon telling her that they'd love to have her as their new roommate.
Mid-afternoon she was moving all her things from her car into her house with help from the boys, much to their shock. That's right, Dane's been living in her car after her situation went left. Only for one day prior to finding the AD, lucky for her. Plus it wasn't that bad, Dane knew a few people from her job that lived in their car because they were saving money and that was their best solution. She even toured around and it didn't seem like a bad idea. If Dane hadn't run across this AD, that would probably be the next move she stuck to for awhile.
"By the grace of god," Her mother said when she gained news that her daughter found a new home after ringing her cousin and previous roommate, Amity.
Dane rolled the lollipop to the other side of her mouth as she leaned forward in front of the wall playing with certain shades. She had a good eight different shades of red that she tested on her new wall, the swatches varying from: "Apple," "mahogany," "wine," "jam," "Persian red," "ruby" "fire brick red," and "desire." After swatching "desire" Dane groaned as she stood up straight, her back aching for constantly being in this position just to be disappointed yet again. She was thankful that she was able to gain some samples as the last three stores were too snobby to even consider Dane's vision.
"Desire" was more of a petal pink and not remotely close to red. Plus the other seven shades were not satisfactory at all. This was a lot of work so Dane would like to have the correct shade as she would be looking at it for awhile. At this point even Janelle Monáe's magical voice could only keep Dane sane for so long before she lost it. From behind, she didn't notice Zion and Nick appearing in the doorway, the room now empty except for the mattress on the floor, her phone pressed into a near by speaker on a side table by the large window that gave a view out into the backyard, and a couple of duffel bags Dane had thrown against the opposite wall.
