[to clear up any possible confusion, Kate has not been in Allison's life for a long time. Allison does not know what she does for a living, if she's in a relationship, etc., so yes, this is not going to be exactly like Teen Wolf! okay, happy reading❤.]

My Aunt Kate arrived in the middle of the night.
I was supposed to be in bed sleeping, but I just couldn't seem to find any rest. I haven't seen my Aunt in quite a few years; I only have vague memories of her from my childhood. Kate and I are fairly close in age, with 10 years between us. My parents speak highly of her, but I can't help but have a prejudice against her for not visiting more often. The only family I have here are my parents, so its justifiable to feel lonely every now and then. I wish I had a sibling to get along with, or at least a cousin to talk too.
My thoughts are consuming my head the more I lay here and pretend to sleep; I can't help but creep to my window and peer out in the darkness. Kate seems to be unpacking with the help of my father. The closer I look, the faster my heart pounds. An eery feeling floats in the air as I watch my dad carry luggage after luggage indoors. Most of her luggage is painted a sleek black color, labelled Argent on the front. What could be in there? Weapons? A book containing all of our family secrets?
"Allison,"
"Oh!" I shriek and turn around, only to face my disapproving mother. "A knock would be nice, you know," I mutter.
"Shouldn't you be in bed, sleeping?" She eyes me suspiciously.
I shrug, trying to seem as innocent as possible. "I couldn't sleep. I just really can't wait to see Aunt Kate again," I fake a smile to top off the lie.
My mother seems to buy it as she gives me a tight smile. "By the way, if I were an intruder, you would've been dead." She tsks. "Not even a knife on you?"
"Sorry," I apologize, even though I have nothing to apologize for. I glance over at my pocket knife laying on my nightstand that I received as a birthday present, ironically from Kate. Hmm, I guess Kate is a hunter, too. I'll have to ask her later.
My mom smiles with her lips pressed into a tight line. "Can't be sorry if your dead," She says and leaves me in my room, with just me and my thoughts.

Tonight is Allison's family dinner, and I would be lying if I said I didn't freak out over it all last night. Aunt May helped me pick out a decent outfit, but I was already having second thoughts. It was a simple jean jacket paired with a white shirt and black jeans. Would Allison like it? Would her family approve?
"I'm disappointed I don't know more about this chica Allison," my Aunt teases.
I cringe at my aunts overly exuberant tone.
"She's nice," I say simply, feeling a pang of guilt course through my body. She was so much more than nice. "You'll have to meet her soon," I propose.
And of course May is over the moon with that idea.
"Come on now, get your butt off to school," she smiles before patting me on the back and shoving me out the door.

"Are you nervous for tonight?" Allison and I have been successfully avoiding this topic all day, that is until she brought it up just now.
