My dad's timing is impeccable.

"Ever heard of knocking?" I roll my eyes as I climb off of Peter's lap.

He's standing in the doorway with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. "We have to talk."

This isn't the first time my dad has walked in on me and another boy, so I don't feel that embarrassed. I feel more annoyed, actually.

Peter, on the other hand- his face is redder than Lydia's hair.

I turn my back on my dad and look directly at Peter. "I'm sorry he barged in like that. Next time I'll remember to lock the door," I say sheepishly.

Peter is so uncomfortable.

"There will be no next time," My dad says sternly.

I whip my head around and give him a deadly glare. "Are you forgetting I'm 18 and you have no control over who I choose to be with?"

I probably should not have said that to my dad, but I am fuming. How dare he try to intervene with Peter and I's relationship, it's none of his business.

Once more I turn around to face Peter. "I'm so sorry, I don't know why he's being like this,"

Truthfully I don't. He's always been overprotective, but lately he's been abnormally protective, which is suspicious and probably has something to do with the whole Peter business. Somehow my family is connected to this, I just have a feeling.

Peter is still uncomfortable, obviously. I don't know what this is going to do to our current relationship, considering that any minor inconvenience throws our relationship back to square one.  "You should probably go. I don't want you to have to listen to him any longer," I give him an excuse to get the hell out of here.

"Allison, enough." He rolls his eyes. "I tried to be calm-"

"Barging in my room isn't calm," I interrupt, but he ignores me.

"I need to have a serious talk. With both of you," He then walks back downstairs.

This catches both Peter and I's attention.

My face pales. Did he find out about Peter and I's little "mission"? There's no way... we were being cautious.

Maybe he really just wants to talk about Peter and I making out. Maybe he just wants to make some dad clarifications, or something.

Both of those scenarios sound dreadful.

"Allison," Peter whispers. "Do you think he knows?"

"Know what? That we're sexually attracted to each other, or that we're investigating our families?" I say frustratedly.

"Being a smart ass won't fix the situation," He retorts, and I'm oddly comforted by his snappy attitude. I thought that he would be stand-offish with me after the awkward situation with my dad.

"Come on," I grab his hand and lead him downstairs.

As we come down the steps, I see my Aunt, Mom, and Dad all seated on the couch in my living room. It looks like a family pow wow.

Anxiety starts to bubble in my chest. I have no idea what's going on, but I know it can't be anything good. Especially with Kate here.

We sit down opposite from them on the other couch. "Why are we all gathered like this? I thought only you had to talk to us?" I raise my brow at my dad and cross my arms.

Suddenly, and seemingly out of nowhere, Peter's Aunt appears in the room.

"Aunt May?!" Peter stands up, with an incredulous look on his face. "What are you doing here?"
