Capturing The Tortured
Present:
Hours seemed to pass me by as I kept staring at the blank white wall in front of me. I sighed, wishing that I wasn't in captivity and sitting down on cold tile.
The door opened loudly and I glanced over tiredly. "Hey." I waved with a smile as Tsunade came in. She walked over to me and hauled me by my Akatsuki robe.
She looked at me, expecting me to say something but I just smiled at her with my eyes closed, man that was a bad decision.
She focused hard, sturdy chakra into her fist and pounded it into the side of my head. As I was wide-eyed and recovering from the shock, she pulled my head by my hair to distance me from the wall.
She hit my stomach with another punch which sent me flying into the wall, buried in it. I tried to move after coughing blood, but couldn't. "I guess I deserved that, huh?" I gave a raspy chuckle as I finally fell down from the wall's hard embrace.
She stomped her foot next to my head, I turned over to look up at her. "How could you? No, how dare you! You marched right into my village, calling yourself a Leaf Shinobi afterwards! How could you be so heartless that you make us see you as our friend, our ally, when all along you were the damn enemy! We cared for you, how could you?! You betrayed us, you betrayed the Hidden Leaf once again! I guess I should've expected that from Itachi's lover!"
"Shut the hell up! Don't you dare talk about Itachi like that! You don't know what the Third Hokage made him do! He did all of this, every single thing for this damn village and you see him as the traitor! I betrayed no-one, I didn't betray the Hidden Leaf or you! Neither did Itachi, how dare you?!" I snapped as I started getting up, she looked at me angrily.
"I didn't have any memories when I came here! I honestly thought of this place as my home and I still do! You are my friend, my ally, and so is the Hidden Leaf and it's people! Itachi and I joined the Akatsuki to protect you
from the shadows! We did much more heavy work than you and your chest will ever do!" I huffed in anger, staggering to a stand as I pointed at her while talking.
"When you began to regain your memories, you could've confessed to me, Y/N! You were my best friend, didn't you trust me?" Tsunade replied as she pointed back between us. "But now, the gap is too wide to close. It's too late for you or us."
"Tsunade, quit talking bullshit! Even if I had, you're the damn Hokage. Admit it, you would've had me in a cell by the time I finished the last word of my confession. I trusted you, I trusted you enough to keep it to myself to not hurt you and my home. It's your own damn fault that you didn't trust me enough, Tsunade. Don't go dumping that on me!"
Tsunade opened her mouth to say something, but closed it right after. I sighed and sat down again.
"Look, I'm sorry. If you're going to kill me or something, then do it now. I'd rather that than not see the light of day or the light of my life, who I'm sure you know quite well since he's a 'traitor' right?"
Tsunade glared at me and sighed, moving her hair out of her eyes. "You'll be under strict surveillance and I don't think you know about the position you're in, Y/N. Since you're a member of the Akatsuki, we're going to dig into your memories and find out what their plans are!"
I chuckled at her and waved her off. "What good will that do when you'll just be faced with millions of doors that block you? Our leader won't risk it, you should know that. They probably add more blocks every month, maybe even every day that I've been here."
Tsunade huffed and turned towards the door. "Yeah, yeah, we'll see about that." She ordered the door to be opened and I smiled at her, waving as she left the room and slammed the door.
"Seeya!"• • •
"What a drag." Shikamaru sighed as he laid down on the grassy patch in the training ground.
"Hey! Don't be so down, Shikamaru! Today's a great day, believe it!" Naruto exclaimed as he hanged out with the pineapple head. Choji nodded at Naruto several times as he lazily, but quickly ate his chips.
"Guys! Shape up, today we gotta celebrate! It's been exactly one year since Y/N-sensei came to the Hidden Leaf! Crazy, right? We gotta set up a party! Maybe Kakashi-sensei will even show up and they can finally get together!" Sakura exclaimed with excitement as she looked at the others with a smile.
"Well, it's about time they get together! Believe it!" Naruto shouted up into the air with a fist, happily smiling at the thought.
"What a drag, for once you're actually right. It's about time Asuma and Kurenai get together too, don't you think?" Shikamaru answered lazily with a smug smirk.
"Hey guys! Sorry I'm late! The others should be here soon and we can start planning the party! You guys know what day it is, right? Right?" Ino asked excitedly as she held up a bag full of stuff. "I brought party stuff so at whose place do we set it up at?"
"Obviously at Kakashi's." Sasuke mumbled as he huffed and crossed his arms, leaning against the tree behind him while everyone else sat down.
"Well, you heard him! Sasuke's always right, so let's go set it up!" Both Sakura and Ino exclaimed happily, right before they gave each other a glare that produced sparks.
"H-Hi. S-Sorry we're l-late. It took me... a while..." Hinata quietly mumbled as Kiba, Akamaru, and Shino stood beside her with Akamaru tucked neatly into Kiba's sweater.
"We're here! Never underestimate the power of youth, guys! If Guy-sensei said it himself, then it has to be true!" Lee shouted with confidence as he gave a thumbs up and wink, Neji sighed and looked at Lee angrily. Tenten sighed at her teammates, telling herself that she wouldn't get herself involved in this argument.
"Do I of all people have to be here? I don't see the importance of setting up a stupid party instead of training myself to be stronger, Lee." Neji's acidity led everyone to look at him angrily, even Sasuke himself. Neji backed down and muttered something about 'how absurd'.
Minutes later, they all started walking towards Kakashi's place. They arrived quickly because of their excitement and knocked at the door with bags in hand and smiles on their faces.
Kakashi opened the door with a sad look beneath his mask and headband, his eye looked a bit puffy and he tiredly asked them their reason for the visit.
"Kakashi-sensei! Have you forgotten already?! Today's Y/N's one year anniversary with us! Why're you so down?" Sakura asked with a bit of an annoyed tone, Kakashi looked at all of them and sighed. He signaled them to come in and settle down to sit.
They all quieted down quickly, sensing that the mood in the apartment was down, and the look Kakashi gave them just confirmed it.
"Y/N was never our friend, she's a part of the Akatsuki. She was our enemy all along, and we played right into her hands."
The tone Kakashi described it to them was painful, as if he had lost part of himself. The broken hearts and tears were the only sounds that were heard in the apartment for hours, the painful memory of their encounters playing into their mind like a loop: never willing to stop.
