Chapter Two

New Beginnings

Past:

"Itachi? What'll we do now, what's our goal?" I asked Itachi as we continued walking on the road. We had lost the police quite a while ago and Itachi hadn't uttered a word since.
"I'm taking you to the Akatsuki base, you'll join and we'll protect the Hidden Leaf from the shadows." Itachi told me as he grabbed something from the bag I only just noticed now. He slowly put it on and began walking again. It was a... robe? It was fully black with the exception of the multiple red and white clouds etched into it.
"Okay, that's fine and all but what is this Akatsuki thing?" I asked Itachi as I caught up to him.
"It's a group filled with elite S-rated criminals. Just for your information, we fit under that category now too." He responded before glancing at me.
"What exactly did you do, Itachi? You never told me." He stopped walking and turned to me, looking me dead in the eyes.
"I killed my clan, the Uchiha." He told me seriously, I looked at him incredulously.
"Wait, what?! Itachi, I need more than that! What happened?! Why?!"
"It was a mission... either the Hidden Leaf or the Uchiha Clan, I had no choice." He turned serious, which kind of scared me, I backed away a little. "Does that scare you, my dear Y/N?" He asked as he slightly tilted his head and rose an elegant brow.
"Yes, yes it does but I know you had no choice. Let us continue on our way." I took a deep breath while closing my eyes, I opened them and waited for Itachi to continue walking.
"I'm sorry, Y/N, I truly am."
I looked forward and began walking too. "Did she meet the same fate as well?" I asked quietly, he nodded. He killed his lover too, would that happen to me too? I'm not an Uchiha, but-
"Please don't be afraid of me, I may be a criminal but I will protect you with my life. I care for you, please don't forget that." Itachi said quietly as we both continued onward. I nodded and we both head into the Akatsuki.
     "May the journey begin." I thought as I grabbed Itachi's hand and walked with him straight into the depths of hell.

2 Years Later:

"Hey, Itachi, what's that look for?" I asked Itachi as he looked at me with a sad look. He began walking towards me and pulled me into his embrace, he slightly smiled at me. I heated up. "H-Hey! What's the deal?" I stuttered as he let go.
"Y/N, you have a mission, my love."
"M-My l-love? You're confusing me here, Itachi!"
"I have something to tell you, come with me." I nodded and followed Itachi to his room? Wait... his room... that pervert! I swear if he tries any- "Here, it was my mother's and now it is yours." He quickly put a necklace of some sort on me as we sat down on his bed.
"I-Itachi..." I looked up at him and he actually smiled at me, I looked at the necklace and my jaw dropped. The chain was silver and the flower in the middle stood out proudly and gracefully, it was colored a dark red and in the middle stood a small, shiny gem. "I-Itachi I-I... can't take this! Why are you giving this to me?"
"Y/N, I know this is unexpected but please take it, it would make me the happiest I've been in years." Itachi lightly pleaded, I sighed and nodded at him with a smile to which he smiled back. "Good, now I can do this."
He grabbed my hand and put it on his shoulder as he leaned in to kiss me, I closed the gap and we kissed. He caressed my cheek as we pulled apart and looked at me. "Will you be my girlfriend, Y/N?"
"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend, Itachi." I answered as I hugged him tightly. He rested his head on my shoulder before pulling me up with him.
"I'll lead you to our leader now. As I told you earlier, you have a mission, my love."
We walked for a while as we passed many corridors until we arrived to Pain's office. It was a rare occurrence for him to be here, usually he was with Konan at his village or whatever.
"Y/N, I have a mission for you. Itachi?" Pain paused as he looked at the door. Itachi left and I looked at Pain curiously. "Your mission is to go undercover to the Hidden Leaf and look for their Jinchuriki, Naruto. Once you have located him and given us a message of when to capture him alone, we will come retrieve him. I wouldn't ask you to do this, but he is always surrounded, which makes our job much harder. Dismissed."
     "H-Hold up, before I leave what's the estimated time this mission will take me?" I asked nervously, Pain scared me a little bit so I always got nervous.
     "This mission should take a couple weeks to a couple months, is that a problem?" I shook my head vigorously, I felt myself shrink with each passing second because of his stare.
     "N-No, thank you. U-Um, have a nice day." I lightly bowed and left the room calmly but in truth, I was trying my hardest not to rush.
     I smiled as I entered the corridor and spotted Itachi waiting for me. He offered me his hand and I took it, smiling as we both started walking hand in hand.
     "What's your mission?" Itachi asked me as he let a bit of his curiosity out.
     "I'm pretty much gonna spy inside the Hidden Leaf and tell Pain when it's most convenient to capture their Jinchuriki."
     "I see. How much time will it take?"
     I looked at him and slightly smile, I think he's worried about me." Pain said from around a couple weeks to a couple months, nothing big." I disclaimed as I knew I was lying, this was a serious mission and I couldn't fail.
     "You should go say your goodbyes to the others, then. I'll accompany you." Itachi led the way to the hangout area where many of us just rested, waiting for another mission from Pain.
     I looked around. "Kisame, Sasori, Deidara, Hidan, Kakuzu, I'll see you all in a couple months. Try to not die while I'm gone." I smirked as I looked at Hidan.
     "What, bitch? You wanna fight cause I'm all for it." He started standing up and I laughed as I smacked his arm.
     "You know I'm kidding."
     Kisame looked at me and then shook his head. "It's gonna get real quiet without you here, kiddo."
     "Y/N-senpai! You forgot about me! Why didn't you call my name?! Y/N-senpai, when'll you be back?!" I heard Tobi yell as he latched onto my back. "Don't leave me, Y/N-senpai!" I heard him fake cry and I laughed a little.
     "Tobi, come on, you know I'll be back right?" I smiled at him after he got off of me and patted his head.
     "Okay, Y/N-senpai, I trust you." He began sulking as he walked away.
     "Seeya, kiddo."
     "See you."
     "Goodbye."
"Bye, bitch."
"..."
I heard Kisame, Sasori, Deidara, Hidan and Kakuzu tell me as I turned to leave.
As I arrived at the entrance, I turned to look at Itachi and he looked a bit worried. I hugged him tightly, wishing I didn't have to let go but knowing it was futile. I had to go, no matter what.
"I love you, Itachi." I let out as I tightened my grip, I could hear him grunt and I let out a laugh.
"I love you too, my dear Y/N." Itachi grabbed my chin so I could look up at him and kissed me, so sweetly and slowly that I was in bliss. We pulled apart and off I went, to the Hidden Leaf.
