I woke up from a short sleep a few minutes later. When I looked outside the window, it was already dark, only a few rays of sunlight remains. Dinner with the Wolfbloods, princes and princesses of Kells. I wonder if it's the same as having dinner with Queen Elizabeth.
Probably not. In the end, they're still Achilleas, non-human and animal like creatures with magic. Even though they didn't say what roll I play during my time here, I'll be a prisoner as long as I'm here. They forbid me from going outside the castle or to the main tower, where the people often come and go. I'm like the secret bastard child a disgraceful mother would hide.
But I'll be safer this way. As long as my father, Crom Cruach or the Imperial High King doesn't know that I'm here yet, I'll be safe. And it would save Kells some trouble and questioning.
I was starting to think that the Wolfbloods left me to starve when a knock came from the door. About time someone came to me, I'm starving. I walked over and opened the door to find Seth.
"Hi," he greeted.
"Hey. . ." I replied.
"Ready to join us for dinner?"
"Of course! It's funny. I thought you left me here to starve."
We exited the room and he shut it.
"I would never do such things," he said, offended. "Saoirse and Sam might, but not me. I'm not that kind of guy."
I giggled. He isn't. He's the type of guy that keeps his cool, treats all girls equally and would even help an old lady cross the road. If he's in the human world. But out here in the Achilleas World, he's a prince. Everyone would have to bow when he passes by, probably is even afraid to talk to him because of his sister's reputation.
His face brightened up all of a sudden. "Oh right, I ought to tell you that tonight's a Family Family Dinner."
What the what now? Family Family Dinner? The hell is that?
"What's a Family Family Dinner?"
"It's when all my aunties and uncles, oh, and don't forget my beloved grandpa gather together with my siblings to eat. Like a—a Wolfblood Dinner!"
"Don't you eat dinner with the rest of the family everyday?"
"Not really. My uncles and aunts go to different places everyday, businesses and politics," he rolled his eyes. "They take my grandfather with them sometimes. And my siblings are separated most of the time."
"What...do you mean by 'separated most of the time' ?"
"After my parents' death," he started, sounding a little uneasy. "My siblings and I were separated, to be raised by my father's brothers. They had to pick us out. Uncle Sun chose Saoirse and I. Samtron, Suzanna and Samson were chosen by Uncle Paul. Sapphire was the only one who didn't have another one of us with her. But we meet everyday at training, to 'keep our relationship close', they say. When our uncles have no where to go, they'll leave us here, together. All of us, including my uncles meet at Family Family Dinner every weekend."
That would mean that the castle is mostly empty. With his uncles and siblings off to different places all the time, and to be raised by different people, he must feel lonely sometimes. Saoirse can't keep him happy, I'm sure. Being the eldest with a huge roll to play, she must be busy with training to hardly even spend time with her own family. But from the looks of it, all of them seem very close.
If tonight's the Family Family Dinner, I'll have to eat with all his family members. Just great...
"It must be lonely here. I'm sorry for you, again."
