My body was trembling from fear upon seeing Saoirse and Ryker's hard glare at the courtyard. It was still early in the morning, I would've still be sleeping like a baby right now. But all my senses came back when I saw Saoirse and Ryker. I woke up this morning, did the usual morning routine and then maids came into my room. I were to change immediately into my armor before getting pushed out of my room by Rubio. He appears to be unsettled, rushing me the courtyard.
"Why are we in such a hurry?" I asked him while stuffing bread into my mouth.
"You slept in," he grunted. "Do you even remember what I said last night?"
I thought back to what he said while escorting me back to my room yesterday.
Your training will start first thing in the morning, 15 minutes after the sun rises.
"Kind of. It's not that late."
"No, the other thing," he sneered.
Saoirse and Ryker doesn't like it when someone is late. A warrior is disciplined, only then can they learn through their mistakes and change.
"About Saoirse and Ryker?" I asked.
"Exactly. They won't go easy on you anymore."
I swallowed. It can't be that bad, can it? I was wrong. I was greeted by their cold gazes, and it sent a chill down my spine, especially Saoirse's. She walked over to me, slowly, taking her sweet sweet time. Like a wolf, playing with it's prey before going for the kill. What creature toys with its food?
She stood before me, her tall body towering over me. She then showed me a box with a smile, how satanic.
"A sword. Your sword," she stated.
"Thank you—" I was going to take it from her but she retrieved her hand.
"No, you're not going to have it until you're ready. Clearly you're not," she eyed me up and down, making me feel weak and naked. She threw the box at Rubio who caught it with ease. "Now that that's out of the way, let's do some warm-up, shall we?"
I looked at Rubio who shrugged and whispered 'Good luck' before heading back into the castle to carry on his duties. Now I'm left with Saoirse and Ryker who was heading towards the middle of the yard, leaving me trailing behind. We did our stretches too loosen up the muscles, quick and easy. Not until Ryker told me to run 20 circles around courtyard. I gaped at first, not believing what I was hearing. The courtyard was huge, like 4 basketball courts that big.
It's going to be Hell.
I can still hear Sam's voice in my head.
"You heard me, 20 circles, get working!" he commanded.
I moved a little, looking back at them who stared at me.
"We did 80 circles before you came, that's only baby work," Saoirse stated. When I wasn't moving again, she exchanged glances with Ryker before walking towards me. She sighed. "What do you want?"
"What?" I yelped, not sure if it's an insult or a proper question.
"What do you want to do for yourself? Do you want to help your people like you promised, or are you willing to break that oath? Because last time I checked, only you yourself can change what truly desire."
I looked into her green eyes, it glistened under the sunlight. It's hard to believe she can be this motivating while not even trying. I did promise Sans I'd do this for my people, even though they don't know I'm here. One day, sooner or later. I nodded, hoping that was self-reassuring enough. She smirked.
