That was either her heart or the attack from outside. Something doesn't sit well. Odette has felt fear, has seen it in people's eyes. Yet, this was different.
No one updated her about anything. And she couldn't get to Seth. It was like he shut everything down in order to convert every inch of concentration to battle. So she left it, feeling that she shouldn't worry about him in battle. The royals never seem to lose a battle, well, it was more like they've never lost someone during a battle.
Except for Robert.
They lost him. A long, long time ago.
There wasn't much information about Akili, Seth's mother. Odette tried to search for her in books, but none ever revealed her personal information.
Which was odd, considering the fact that she was quite popular amongst the Achilleas. Back then at least.
Odette fiddled with the hem of her sunshine-yellow dress, thinking of how this colour eases her worries. The embroideries of white flowers reminded her of those who don't have power. Innocent, fragile, weak—
The sound of crashing glass snapped her back into focus of the current situation. Then there was tapping. Metallic footsteps, as if the wearer had metal boots. And only getting louder.
Seth? Someone broke in. She sent.
Sending a prayer to Mother Nature, she hoped that Lucia and Thompson were well. Though she doubts that Thompson wouldn't be. He was known to be a powerful ruler. So much more powerful than his ancestors that none of his sons could compete.
Until he had grandchildren.
Saoirse and Sapphire were proven to have one-third of their grandfather's power at the age of twelve. So you could just imagine the injuries they inflict onto people during their training.
Summoning her sword, Odette held on with a firm grip to the hilt. She's fought before, she can do it again.
"In here!" A man yelled as Odette's bedroom door was smashed open.
Splinters exploded, falling like dust from the sky, but bouncing off Sylas' shield. It still didn't stop her from covering her ears. Though the shield prevented anything coming through, the loudness of that blast sent an ear-piercing ringing in her ears. Purple wisps disappeared into thin air, clearing away along with smoke of the eruption.
Odette coiled herself up, the sword in between her legs as she laid on the ground.
Seth, I'm kind of in trouble.
"Ah, mother's tits! A shield." Someone cursed.
Three cloaked man stood by the entrance of the room. Blades draped from head-to-toe, plastered on their lips were dissatisfied sneers.
"Break through," the one on the left said.
"Can't. A prince's power." The middle one answered. "Guess we'll have to call the general."
