Hiding Myself From Loving You

Chapter 2:

[Riley's POV]

Few weeks after, and it's the last day of our classes as summer's arriving, and our graduation's getting nearer and nearer!! Yeah, at last, our hardwork throughout the school year would finally pay off. Well, aside from that, I also made a surprise for Gem before that event. Yeah, you heard it right. I'm in love with Gem since the day I met her during childhood, but it's just that I'll be formally courting her in public. I know that she wouldnt treat me like I treat her, but at least I still tried. But Im still hoping that she could see how much she really means to me.

When we had a songwriting session in her house with my bros, I just kept on staring at her and everything...like how could I even like a tomboyish girl like her, but I dont care about her being like that anyways, but yeah, there's a big possibility that I might be rejected by her, that I dont wanna happen. )): /sighs/

I was on my way to her house when I saw her outside, having a mid-loud phone convo with someone...an-and they're speaking in Korean. :O

"Soo Jung-ah! I really missed u so much!!"

"Me too, dear Hye Min!!"

"By the way, when would you go back here in Orlando?!"

"I'm actually now in LA---"

"Jinjja (Really)!?!?"

"Maybe tomorrow I'll be going there for a week!!"

"Omo!! Cant wait to meet u again!!"

"Me too. By the way, how's the McDonough bros, esp. Riley-duljjae*!?"

"They're still fine. XD By the way, I and Riley would gonna march in our graduation on the next few days!

"OMG! Chukhahae (congratulations), Hye Min, and also to Riley!

[Maybe I'll be going to ya grad!"

"Woohoo!! That would be great! Haha by the way, I have important things to do. I'll call you later! Annyeong!"

"OK...annyeong!"

I was already in front of her when Gem hanged the call up, and got shocked a bit when she saw me.

"Whoaaa...Riley! Have you been here a while ago!?"

"Hmm..let's say...a bit," I grinned, "by the way, who's on that call?"

"It's Krystal, dear." She smiled.

"Whoa! It's been three year since we last saw her. How's she right now!?"

"She's now in LA."

"Really!? Oh my gosh...that would be epic if she will visit us here XDD" I exclaimed.

"She'll be here maybe tomorrow."

"Then let's have some welcome back party with her!"

"Great idea, duljjae! But how would we going to start!?"

"Just trust me..."

"O-okay, Ri..."

I, Gem and Krystal were childhood classmates-bestfriends before until the time that Krystal's family moved to Korea for good, and it was three years ago. The only thing I'm updated bout her is that she's now a member of a Korean pop girl group called... f(x). I heard some of KPOP songs playing on our local radio, and it's catchy.

We've gone to the bakery to buy just a small cake for her as our surprise gift, and we also bought some confettis and banners. We're really that excited, huh (even though the surprise party's on tomorrow XDD) But daaaaang!! I forgot something!! Oh....I know it. I also have to buy a surprise gift for Gem as I planned to confess my feelings to her a day before the graduation day, but I'll be going to do the plan alone. Well anyways, after an hour, I took her home using Connor's car, and she told me to bring the cake and stuffs home cos her parent wouldnt allow her to bring those. You know Asian parents are generally strict... (sorry for those words! Peaaace!)

As I reached home, Connor and Toby's on the living room, playing games using Wii.

"Oh, bro! Where's our Starbucks!?" Connor's been craving to Starbucks since yesterday.

"I didnt went there, unfortunately." I grinned, while throwing the car key on him.

"Then, where have you been!?" Toby asked.

"I went to bakery with Gem. We bought this cake and stuffs for Krys---"

"Krystal!? You mean, Krystal Jung!? Your childhood bestfriend!? Is she already he--" Connor's words were been cut off.

"Yep, but she'll be here tomorrow."

"OMG! That would be really great!! It's been three years since we heard something bout her. What keeps her busy those days!? Haha." Connor's been a bit curious.

"You didnt even knew that she's now an artist there!?" Toby laughed on him a bit.

"WHAAAAAAT!?" His mouth's in an O-shaped.

"Well you're now outdated, Con...hahaha." I patted his shoulder as I also laughed a bit.

We've been talking bout my childhood bestfriend and also reminiscing our memories with her and Gem before. Well, time flies so fast. XD

Few hours later, and it's now time to sleep. My bros are already sleeping on their own respective rooms, and here I am, sitting still on my bed. I was about to lie down when I got my phone on my pocket, and texted Gem.

"Goodnight, buddy. See ya later at our backyard!"

A moment later, she replied.

"Same to you, Ri-guy! XD"

As I read this text from her, I wanted to text the three words that I wanted to say to her, but....but I dont have enough courage to do this, so I erased it, and went to my bed to get some sleep cos tomorrow would be an another great day for me. XD

*duljjae (둘째) - means second. (In this context, since Riley's the second child, he's been called on that word by Gem since childhood.)
