I slowly woke up, but not in Alec's living room. I was in a white room with no doors, just empty space. As I looked around, there was a figure walking towards me. I tried running away, but I couldn't. He came towards me. He has oak brown hair with honey brown eyes and olive skin. Just like the boy in the other memory. This was not like the other memories, it was like he was trying to contact me by using my power.
"Don't worry Aleah." the boy spoke.
He looked about my age, but older maybe 17 because I'm 15 and he doesn't look like my age.
"How the heck do you know my name. I don't know you."
"I'm Ian. I am just like you."
Ian. He is the boy from the other memory.
"You're the 8th."
"Shoot. You are getting too far along. You shouldn't know that yet. This means you are in immense danger. Turns out you are more powerful than we thought."
"Like I haven't already. Some dudes in black bandanas with white diamonds on them killed my mother and that's when I saw you in my mother's mind before she died." I stuttered, almost crying.
"You mean the Black Diamonds? Those guys have been after the 9th and any abnormal creatures for centuries."
"Just great more to worry about. I'm already worrying that I'm putting Alec in danger."
"Yes, Alec. That's bad.""How do you know about him?" I asked.
"Well, I have been following you for a long time waiting for your powers to be unlocked."
"Okay," I said not realising what he really said,"But, how are we supposed to make sure Alec doesn't get hurt?'' I asked.
"We simply just don't tell him, especially when I start showing up."
"Showing up? So, you are my magical bodyguard?"
"You can say that. I will just take the cover as your close family friend that's staying with you because of the loss of your mother."
"Fine."
I exited the mind and came back to normal life. To Alec and his family I just woke up from passing out.
"Are you okay?" Alec said in worry.
"Yeah, I'm good." I hesitated, sitting up.
"Let me bring you to the doctors."
My eyes opened wide as I said, "No, I do not need to. Honestly."
I cannot risk them somehow finding out about my power from a brain scan. Not today at least."You sure."
"Yes."
I got up when I heard a slight knock on the door. I opened the door, it was Ian. He really wasn't lying when he said he has been following me."Aleah! Who is it?" Alec yelled over to me.
"Uh... it's just an old family friend."
"Hey, I'm Ian. And you?"
"I'm Alec, Aleah's best friend."
I never saw it coming when a face of jealousy masked Alec's loving face.
"Come inside Ian." I said as I gestured him inside.
"Hey Alec, can you leave us alone, we need to talk about something in private, without you." Ian said in a smirk.
I mouthed sorry to Alec as we waked up the stairs to my room. We got inside my room and I slammed the door shut.
"No heads up, or anything. You are just going to barge into my life like that?"
"Yep and I'm not going to leave until my assignment is completed. So, get that through your thick skull." Ian said in a huff.
"Whatever, I didn't want any of this to happen anyways. It just did."
"Trust me, I think we all want a different 9th than the wimp you are, to be honest." Ian replied.
I could tell, that this is not going to be fun, but I have no choice anyways. Ian is just so annoying and I wish he had a mute button. Life just keeps getting worse.
