Chapter 5

-One week later-

 

*Knock…Knock…Knock*

 

I stood up and opened the door

“Hey” Zayn said. I smiled “Could I come in?” He added. I moved aside and let him come in.

“So, what’s up?” I asked him whilst plopping on the bed. He walked over to the bed and sat beside me.

“…Perrie and I ended it last night” He said. I moved closer to him

“I’m sorry…” I said whilst rubbing his back in a comforting way

“Don’t be, she was just not the right one for me. I guess…” He said. “Yeah” I told him

For one week of being with the boys, Zayn was probably the closest one to me. He’s just so approachable and he’s always there for you when you’ve got problems.

“So, when’s the tour?” I asked him. He faced me and smiled “In 2 days”

“I am so excited!” I said. Yes, mum finally allowed me to come. “I’m glad you’re coming” He said. I chuckled

“So, how’s it going between you and Harry?” Zayn asked. I shrugged

“I don’t know. We don’t hang out that much anymore, ever since what happened” I said

-2 days earlier-

 

Harry and I laid down on the grass and watched the stars sparkle in the sky. Ever since Harry showed me his secret place, we always go there to chill out and talk about stuff…to talk about us…

“I really like you Kayla” Harry said breaking the silence. Oh no, I knew this was coming. And yes, they call me Kayla now.

“I love your eyes, your smile, your laugh and everything else…” He said. It was sweet but, I’m trying my best not to fall in love again, I didn’t want to get hurt once more.

“…Will you be my girlfriend?” My heart practically stopped when he asked that question. I wanted to say yes…But I ended up saying “No…”

Harry’s POV

 

“I’m really sorry, Harry…” She said whilst standing up. I stood up too

“No-uhm. I-It’s okay. I-I’m sorry, it just came o-out of me” I said with a shaky voice since I was trying to stop my tears “We better go” She said. I nodded in agreement.

It was silent in the car, we just didn’t know what to talk about anymore. I love her, I really do. “Why not?” that was the question that I wanted to ask her, but I was too scared with what she’s going to answer

I opened the door and dropped the keys on the table and I ran upstairs to the room then slammed the door behind me.

“What happened, mate?” Liam asked. I didn’t want to talk about it, I just wanted to lay down in bed and sleep. I stripped my clothes off and went straight to bed.

Kayla’s POV

 

I wanted to say yes to him, I really did. But, I just didn’t want to get hurt again. I was such a coward.

-flashback-

 

I was sixteen and I had a boyfriend, his name was Josh. He was amazing and all, he was perfect for me. But one night, I went to his house to surprise him. I knocked at his main door but there was no answer. I opened the door but I saw no one, so I went upstairs to his room and as I go up I heard a girl’s voice, I was very curious at who’s voice it was so I opened the door to Josh’s room and tears fell when I just saw the worst thing any girl would see when she’s in a relationship. Josh was cheating on me…

“Kayla, I can ex-“ He started “No. Don’t” I continued. I removed the necklace he gave to me and threw it on the ground, and then I ran outside and slammed the door behind me.

I dialed Sean’s number as I walk far away from Josh’s house

“Hello?” he finally answered. “S-sean…” I said in between my soft sobs

“What happened?” He asked “J-josh ch-cheated on m-me” I said

“Come on over, I’ll wait for you outside” He said. I nodded even though he can’t see then I hung up.

I walked over to Sean’s house and I saw him standing on his doorstep. I ran to him and hugged him so tight.

“Stop crying” He said whilst rubbing my back in a comforting way “Everything’s going to be okay…” He said whilst pulling away and wiping the tears that fell on my cheeks.

That’s why he was my best friend, because he was always there for me no matter what.

We went to his room and we laid down on his bed, my head was rested on his shoulder and his arm was around mine. “Forget about him, you’ve got me, okay?” He said whilst looking down at me. I nodded

“Wait, I wanna give you something” Sean said whilst standing up. I sat at the edge of the bed.

“Here. I bought this yesterday, for you” He said whilst putting a necklace around my neck. I looked down the necklace and it had “Forever” in it.

“It’s beautiful” I said under my breath. He kneeled in front of me

“Yeah, just like you” He said whilst lifting my chin up. I smiled

“Best friends forever?” He said whilst motioning for a pinky swear. I nodded then locked my pinky with his “Best friends forever.”

-end of flashback-

 

“Well, he still talks about you, you’re even his screensaver” He said.

“Please stop making me feel guilty!” I said, throwing my arms out in frustration. He chuckled

I was left alone in my room and I just laid down in bed thinking about Harry.

He still loves me…
