Chapter 26

Luke’s POV

We were doing our homework but, Kayla fell asleep. She hated homework, who doesn’t? Anyway, she fell asleep on my shoulder. We we’re sitting on the couch. Then suddenly, her phone rang. I took it to check the caller I.D… It was Harry, I pressed answer.

“Kayla!” He said. “No, it’s Luke” I replied. He didn’t answer for a couple of seconds

“Where’s Kayla?” He asked, finally. “She’s asleep” I replied straight.

“Why are you in our flat, again?” He asked “Can’t I see my friend?” I asked sarcastically. Trying my best not to be mad. Not to be rude, but I hated this guy’s guts ever since. I’m not a hater of what he is now, but you know what I mean… Anyway Harry replied “Just tell her I called, and I’ll call her as soon as I land” before hanging up. I slipped the phone back to her side trying my best not to wake her up, and well, I failed…

“Did someone call or something?” She asked with her sleepy voice. “Yeah…” I said

“Who was it?” She asked as she sat up quickly “It was Harry” I replied. She looked at me like I was crazy

“Why didn’t you let me talk to him?!” She said as she scroll down her contact list quickly. I took the phone away from her “You were asleep, I didn’t want to wake you! Don’t call him, he might be inside the plane, he said he’ll call as soon as he lands” I said quickly. She frowned and crossed her arms. I sigh

“I’m sorry… for not waking you” I said as I lifted her chin up. She smiled, I knew she couldn’t stay mad at me forever… “I’m sure you’re hungry, and since I’m a better cook than you, I guess I’ll have to do it” I teased. She punched my arm playfully “Yeah. A BETTER COOK. I didn’t know good cooks burn pancakes.” She said sarcastically as she walked to the kitchen “I burned it once! I was distracted, okay?!” I defended. She giggled “Whatever. C’mon! Help me since you’re ‘the better cook’” She said, air-quoting. I smiled.

Every single day… I just fall for her, more and more…
