He's gone

Chapter 1

I was sitting at the corner of my room, my eyes red from all the crying…

My best friend, Sean, died yesterday… He was my only friend; he was everything to me… He protected me and he made sure that I won’t get hurt by anything, or anyone… I didn’t know what to do anymore… Who’s going to tell me that I’m beautiful every time I feel insecure? Who’s going to put a smile on my face every single day? Who’s going to tell me that everything’s going to be ok?

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

“We have to go now…” Mum said while peeking on my door. I sniffed then stood up

Today was his wake… I didn’t really want to come, I was tired of crying…But, I at least have to pay my respects…

“Everything's going to be okay…” Mum said while caressing my hair. I nodded

Nothing’s going to be okay…

-Sean’s wake-

 

I walked inside and everybody had their eyes on me

“He talks about you a lot, you know” Sean’s dad said, smiling slightly. I smiled, trying my best not to cry. I missed him already…

I sat down in a chair at the back of their house, far away from all the people. Thoughts of Sean started forming inside my mind. I remembered the time when this jock from school tried kissing me, I didn’t want to… Sean came up behind him then pulled him away from me, and then punched him. After that, that jock never came near me. I remembered when I fell from my skateboard and I couldn’t walk, and he just carried me all the way to my house (it was quite far). I remembered when he gave me a necklace with the word “Forever” in it…

“Kayla, we have to go” Mum said from behind me. I stood up then followed her.

“Thank you so much for coming” Sean’s mum told us. My mum smiled and nodded but I just stood there, and smiled at her lightly.

-at the car-

 

“You’ll be staying at your aunt Jay’s house for the holidays” Mum said, breaking the silence. I looked at her, confused.

“Who’s aunt Jay?” I asked. “She’s my sister. I lost contact with her before, but now we met again. I didn’t even know I had a sister.“ She said. I scoffed

“And, where do you plan to go for the holidays?” I asked her.

“I’d be in Los Angeles for a couple of months, I’ve been promoted” She said. I looked at her like she was crazy.

“A COUPLE MONTHS?!” I said, loudly. She looked at me then faced the road again

“It’s just for a while. Besides, Jay has a son and she also has daughters. I’m sure you’ll be fine!” She said. I rolled my eyes at her then faced front and crossed my arms together.

This is going to be a long stay at Aunt Jay’s
