Day 23: My Dear Lucy

Doctor POV
When I saw Lucy today and it seems she had been crying. When I had asked her if she was okay she told me that she was writing letters to everyone she loved.

It makes me sad to see such a young girl dying and I know she wants to do so much with her life, but it is going to be selfishly taken away from her. Anyway I had to inform Lucy of her upcoming appointments and what medication she will be taking from now on.

"Excuse me Doctor, but the Director is asking for you" the Nurse told me. She was new and timid towards people but I could tell that she loved to work.
"Alright thank you nurse Kinana" I smiled and walked to the Director's office.

*knock* " Come in" a stern voice was heard from inside the room. I opened the door and looked at the man in front of me, the scariest person I know.... The Director. " How may I help you Sir." I spoke, he looked at me and shrugged." The patient you are taking care you I want you to send me their hospital bill.... I will pay for it." He responded. I looked at him with wide eyes... The Director wants to pay for Lucy's hospital bill." Sir may I ask why."

" Well the girls family is poor and I owe them this for what I have done and I should have been there for them and not have left them... I should have never of left my wife and daughter to live in that house. I Jude Heartifila and a terrible father" I was beyond shocked that means director is Lucy's father." Sir you should go see your daughter before its to late." I spoke and continued" I feel she would like to make amends with her father.....I will take my leave now Director Heartfilia."

Jude POV

I took what the doctor to heart...would Lucy really want to see me after so many years.... After leaving her and her mother to suffer.
I stood up and walked to Lucy's room and looked in. She looks like her mother, I am felt ashamed knowing what I had done to them. I was about to turn around when a Nurse opened the door.

" Oh Director Heartfilia what are you doing here." The Nurse said. It was faint but I heard what Lucy said it was "Dad". I looked up... She still thinks of me as her dad after all these years though she probably hates me.
" Dad is that you...if it is can you come inside please.. I wanna talk to you." Lucy said, I laughed she even sounded like her mother my dear Layla. I dismissed the Nurse and went inside the room... When I saw her I felt heart shatter she looked weak and
pale.

My dear Lucy had gone through so much suffering in her short life.
"Hello...dad long time no see....so you are the Director of the hospital, did I hear it right." Lucy said.

" Yes you did.... I worked hard to come this far... I know that you probably don't want to forgive me because I left  Layla and you, but I want you to know that I still love you both with all my heart." I spoke tearing up. when she looked at me I saw no hate only love. "Father I forgave you long ago I never hated you.... All I wanted was my father back... Now I want you to promise me something.. I want you to stay with mom when I am gone and make her happy again OK." Lucy smiled as she spoke.

"OK Lucy I promise to always stay with your mother and love her with all my heart." I said.

After that I stayed with Lucy talking about how school was, her mother, and her friends.
