Prologue
Please understand before reading this that I am not an expert on Of Mice & Men, therefore not EVERYTHING in this will be completely fact. It will be fabricated and I hope you are okay with that. I'm going off of the knowledge I have and what I find on the internet when googling for specific things. So please remember this through the duration of the fan FICTION. If there is something that I got wrong you can tell me, just so I have that knowledge when I decide to write another OMNM book.
Thank you guysss.
WARNING : SMUT AHEAD. It's going to be towards the end of the chapter and it's going to be shitty sooo, yeah. Oops.
My phone woke me up, making me roll over, grabbing it from the side table. The song playing one that always made me smile, the person calling always able to make me smile.
I cut off Dead Memories, answering my phone with sleep still evident in my voice, "morning."
"Morning, baby," Austin's low voice played through the phone. "Did I wake you up?"
"Yeah," I yawned out, "but that's alright. I probably have to get up soon, knowing your friends, one of them are bound to show up at my door."
"Speaking of which, come open your door?"
I laughed at him, "it's unlocked. Just come on in," I said, a smile etched on my face. I heard him let out a sigh as the door to my apartment opened. The phone went dead and I set it down, waiting for Austin to come into my room.
"You really need to start locking your door, Dev," he said, setting his phone and keys on the table beside my bed.
I shrugged my shoulders as he crawled into the bed next to me, leaning up to kiss me. His hand made it's way to the side of my head, his thumb rubbing my cheek. "I don't want you to get hurt, Dev. Please lock your door at night?"
"I will, Austin. Sorry, I just forgot last night. I'll lock it tonight," I said, laying my head on his chest, breathing in the scent of the awful cologne he insisted was amazing. "You smell like a fucking skunk," I said, sitting up and scrunching my nose.
"Whatever, someday this cologne is going to be the best thing you smell," he said, pulling me back down so that I was laying with him. We laid there for a while, just basking in each other's presence. There wasn't anything wrong with the picture that we had created for ourselves.
We laid there for what felt like hours, and was in turn only twenty minutes. Austin sat up, making me do the same by pulling me up with him.
"We need to do something," Austin says, smiling at me and leaning down to kiss me, his lips meeting my for a brief kiss.
"Like?" I ask, standing up and stretching, the shirt I wore to bed rising and exposing part of my stomach. I walk over to the dresser, running my brush through my wavy copper hair.
"Let's go eat something, nothing fancy, just something," he mutters, walking over behind me, setting his hands on my waist and kissing behind my ear.
"You'll have to wait for me to change," I mutter, looking at the white beater and the red plaid pajama pants I was wearing.
"Or, I'll change into pajamas and we can do a breakfast diner," he says, pulling away and digging through my dresser drawers and pulling out his pajama pants he kept here.
"That would work," I say, leaning up to kiss him and looping my fingers in the loops of his jeans.
He slips off his t-shirt leaving him in a white beater before slipping off his jeans and replacing them with the green plaid pajama pants. He grabs a beanie and slips it onto my head, kissing my forehead and grabbing my hand, leading me out of the apartment.
