Violet:
It's been a week and there's still no sign of Ethan. Grayson doesn't even have a clue as to where he might have went which is strange since the were practically inseparable. They always told each other everything.
"He's still not answering his phone." Grayson sighs with his head hanging low as he sits on the couch.
"I guess all I can really do is forget about it." I shrug. He just nods but doesn't say a word. "I can't be worried about him when I'm trying to enjoy my pregnancy." I add. He just smiles.
"I think I'm gonna go stay with my mom." I blurt. This is something I've been thinking a lot about. I don't want to trouble Grayson.
His head immediately snaps towards me. "Why?" He ask quickly. "Well I'm gonna need some help and she could help me." I shrug.
"I could help you." He offers. For some reason my heart flutters at his offer. He's so eager to help and Ethan was never like that.
"Grayson, it's not your job to help." I say simply. He doesn't know what to say. "I don't want to trouble you." I add.
"You're not trouble at all. I'd love to help." He rambles which causes me to smile. "Plus this is your place too. I don't want to make you leave." He adds.
"You're not making me go anywhere. I'd choose to leave." I shrug. Which is true. I'd be leaving on my own terms, not his. "Well I don't want you to leave." He says quickly.
"I-I've just never lived alone. It'd be nice to have you stay." He says trying to explain himself. This breaks my heart a little bit because now I understand what he's going through. This is the first time he's been without his brother, his best friend. It must be tearing him up inside.
"Fine. I'll stay." I sigh. He flashes me a bright smile. "On one condition." I say quickly. He just nods vigorously. "If things get too out of hand I'll go to my moms." He just nods as of saying it's a deal.
I chuckle at his excitement. "I'm sorry your brothers not here." I blurt as soon as we fall silent. "Why would you be sorry?" He ask knitting his eyebrows.
"It's practically my fault. It was me that scared him away." I mutter. "Don't say that." He says wrapping his bulging arms around me. He's warm and he smells far more welcoming than Ethan did.
"It's his fault he left. Not yours." He whispers into my hair. "He'll regret it." He adds.
The funny thing is I don't think he'll regret it at all. He's probably out living it up. Probably already met a new girl that isn't pregnant and is lots of fun.
The idea of all this makes me cry. Ethan and I were together for almost two years and he just up and left.
Grayson's grip tightens on me as I shudder and let the wet tears soak up his shirt.
"I'm sorry." I mutter as I sit up and attempt to wipe the tears from my face. "No it's okay. I'm always here for you." He says barely above a whisper as he wipes a tear from my cheek with the pad of his thumb.
