Violet:
Today's the day that we get to leave with our daughter. She's been cooped up in the hospital long enough.
I let out a sigh as I sling the diaper bag over my shoulder as Grayson grabs Natalie who's sound asleep in her car seat already.
"You okay?" He ask placing his free hand on the small of my back. "Yeah I'm fine. Just tired." I lie. Ever since Ethan came and talked to us I've been shaken up and confused.
Now I don't hate him and it's even harder for me to forget him. I almost feel bad for him.
"Alright. You ready?" Grayson ask with raised eyebrows. "Yes. Let's go home." I smile. God, I hate the hospital.
Grayson carefully carried Natalie as we walk out of the hospital room and through the hallways. Nurses smile at us as we leave.
It's quite cold outside so I cross my arms over my chest as we make our way to the car.
Grayson attempts to strap Natalie in himself but he can't figure it out. "I got it." I chuckle. I fasten her in and she's still sound asleep.
Grayson and I hop into the car with a sigh. Grayson laughs at the fact that we did the same thing. "Let's go home." He says as he places his right hand on my thigh. I flash him a smile as he pulls out of the parking spot.
"We never did get to finish her room." I chuckle. "We have the crib finished we can do the rest in a couple of days." Grayson shrugs.
I can't keep the smile off of my face as I think of this life I'm getting ready to start with him and my daughter.
Grayson was in middle of transforming his old room into Natalie's but she decided to show up unexpectedly.
The whole ride is quiet but it's comfortable. It's like the both of us were just relishing the fact that this is it. This is the beginning of our life together.
Once Grayson pulls into the driveway we both unfasten our seatbelts quickly because we're so eager to finally be home in our own bed.
Grayson of course offers to carry Natalie yet again and I let him as I take the keys from him to unlock the house.
I swing the door open with a large smile on my face. "Home sweet home." Grayson mutters which causes me to chuckle.
"I'm gonna go put her to bed." Grayson says simply and I just nod as I make my way to the couch. I plop down on to the soft cushions.
My mind wonders to the idea that my life has changed so much in the past 9 months. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Everything led me to this great home life. Even if Grayson and I wasted a couple of months in between all of this.
