Grayson:

The appointment went well and I can't believe she's having a girl. The idea of it makes me smile.

I can't believe Ethan left all of this without a trace. He had a beautiful girl and a beautiful life ahead of him and he just up and left.

I should probably check on Violet before I go to bed. I find myself being worried about her constantly.

I walk up the stairs to her room. Her doors open and she sits on her bed with a book in her hands. She's always been the type to lose herself in a book whenever her mind bothered her.

"I'm getting ready to go to bed. Let me know if you need anything." I say quietly so I don't startle her. She sets her book down and flashes me a soft smile.

"Thank you." She mutters. "No problem." I can't help but smile at her. Her smile has always been contagious. Even when she was with Ethan I found myself smiling at her from a far.

I turn on my heels to head towards my room but I'm stopped by her soft voice. "Thanks for going with me today." She says quickly. "I hated going by myself." She admits.

"If you ever need anyone to go with, I'm here." I mutter scratching the back of my neck. "I know." She smiles. This makes my heart beat against my chest. All I've wanted was to be there for her

"Goodnight violet." I mutter as I reach to close her door for her. "Grayson." She stops me again. "Yeah?" I stammer. "Will you stay with me tonight?" She ask shyly.

My chest tightens at the idea. This used to be her and Ethan's room.

Violet:

I don't know why I want him to stay with me. The thought of him being close makes me feel safe and comfortable and I don't want that feeling to go away.

He doesn't answer and I begin to worry the question was stupid. "I'm sorry. I-I just thought it would be easier if I woke up in middle of the night and I needed something." I ramble. That was a lie. I just wanted him to be close to me.

"Yeah. Yeah." Grayson says stepping in hesitantly and closing the door behind him. I can't help but smile at the fact that he agreed to staying.

I make room for him in the bed and lift the cover up as if to invite him in. The side he slides into used to be Ethan's and it makes me sad at first but then I realize Grayson's the one that deserves to be next to me. He's been here for me when Ethan hasn't.

Grayson's the one I want next to me.

"What's wrong?" He ask as he slides in next to me. I give him a questioning look. "You were reading. You usually read when you got a lot on your mind and not to mention you invited me to stay with you tonight." He grins.

Sometimes I think he knows me better than Ethan ever did. "Oh I don't know. I'm just thankful I guess." I mutter. "For what?" He ask questionably.

"For you being here." I smile softly.
