I softly wiped the tears away from her eyes. Her head was in my lap, my sniper not even near me for once. She was tired.. And I could tell she was hurt. Evan was her friend, I may not have been fond of him, but this really does suck.. We stopped the truck at some random neighborhood so we could rest. I set Y/n's head on her bag so I could help move everything inside. When I came back out, she was nowhere to be found. I sighed, noticing the storm.

On our way here I remembered that she was afraid of storms. When she was little.. her family got taken away from her because of a tornado, thunder is just loud, and accidents happen in the rain. I sat in a recliner reading some weird magazine. I saw Cassandra's blanket falling down so I got up to fix it for her.

-

Y/n slept peacefully on the couch, shivering slightly. I bit my lip. What do I do? Pa walked in beside me and handed me a blanket, smiling and nodding towards her. I slowly made my way over and laid it over her. The shivering stopped soon after and a slight smile crossed her features.

-

Cassandra stabbed the blanket and glared at me. My eyes widened slightly. "It was.. the blanket.. I uh- Sorry!" I backed up and heard Murphy and Doc talk. Murphy smirked. "They are kinda cute dontcha think?" Doc chuckled. "Yea, but just imagine if we bred 10k and Y/n." Murphy's eyes got big. "It would be the end for the Zombies." I blushed slightly. "Bred?" They turned to me. Doc laughed at my reaction. "Yeah. You know, you do the deed and have a kid-""  "Puppies and kittens. Pack up we are outta here!"  I swung my bag over my head. "Where is Y/n?" Garnett looked at me with a strange knowing look. "She is keeping the truck guarded." I nodded and ran out.

Like he said, she was taking out every Z that got close, with her slingshot. The moment everyone got in the truck, she sat down across from me, her eyes staring at the floor. She was still gripping the bandanna, she looked.. dead. I gulped as we left. As we got a little further out, the truck started running low, I assume on gas, and we had to pull over. Her eyes didn't move an inch. Even as we got to Warren's hometown, her eyes were on the ground.

We cleared it out and I kept an eye on her. She stayed on the front porch, holding the bandanna, staring at the sky with deep remorse. I was told to go out with Cassandra but Cassandra pat me on the shoulder. "Take Y/n. I'm afraid of what will happen if you aren't here to keep her from walking out into the storm herself." I smiled at her. "Thanks." She nodded as I walked out where Y/n was. "Hey uh.. do you wanna go on a quick hunt for supplies with me?" She slowly nodded, gripping the bandanna.

We walked out into town but before we could really search any of the buildings, a tornado started to form in front of us. "Y/n! car!" She stopped suddenly and I grabbed her hand, running to the car. She seemed to snap out of it and climbed in before me, her eyes no longer on the ground, they were on the storm. She grabbed my leg to keep herself steady. I looked down in surprise. She looked at me with scared eyes.

Both my hands went to the roof, keeping myself in place, she held onto me with one hand and with the other she did as I did. The car got picked up and slung around. She cried out in fear and I looked over at her to see her eyes clamped shut and her hand gripped my leg tighter. After a moment, the storm stopped and her eyes shot to look at me. I climbed out of the car and looked around for any danger. She climbed out after me.

Her hand slipped into mine. I looked down at her as she intertwined her fingers with mine. She was slightly blushing with a little smile on her face. "Thank you, Tommy." I smiled back, my face heating up. We walked back to the house in a hurry. When we got there, Cassandra smiled at us and Doc winked at my, still red, face. We got on the firetrucks back, she let go of my hand to hold on.
