Your Pov

I held my finger on the trigger staring at him. The blood slowly trailed down to his jaw. I glared, hearing Tommy's voice. "Just.. Just promise me you'll return."  All noise, everything. The birds, insects, waterfall, wind.. It all went completely still and quiet

-

"How long til they ditch you? You need someone to rely on."

I spit in his face, earning a knife to stab my palm, holding me to the wall. I smirked.

"The dead don't kill their own. It's the living you gotta worry about."

-

[If you know that refrence.. We are now best friends lol]

I pressed the trigger, killing a Z that was coming behind him. When I moved my sniper down to see him sigh in relief, I felt something grab my shoulder and I turned to see a few Z's heading my way. The one that grabbed my shoulder, I aimed at it with my sniper but it grabbed it, nipping at me. It ended up overpowering me and I fell to the floor, behind the barrier.

I looked for anything to kill it with. They took all my weapons, giving me no defense. The sound of a truck getting closer was the only thing that gave me hope. Another Z came over and grabbed my leg. I let out a cry, hoping someone in the group would hear me.

Garnett pulled up beside me. "Come on kid, we gotta-"  "I'm not leaving her." She wasn't trying to kill me. She was warning me to duck.. Or turn around. I watched as she got shoved to the ground by a Z. I jumped over the barrier and started sprinting.

Garnett drove the truck beside me. "Hop on." I reluctantly grabbed the side and held on. He drove me close. I shot Z's with my slingshot. There was a small table beside the Rv. I ran to it, I grabbed her things. All four knives, her sling, and her sniper.

I then climbed on the Rv, shooting the Z that was on her. She looked over at me, a smile grazed her lips as I threw her sling to her. She instantly bent down, picking up four rocks. She stood and shot every Z that was coming at her but a rock went straight through and hit an explosive barrel. She turned and jumped off the barrier, straight towards me.

I leaped foreward, catching her arm and pulling her up. We both jumped into the back of the truck with a loud sigh. She dropped her sniper and sling and leaned her head back.

Her chest heaved up and down, her top was visibly tight. We pulled completly out of that hell and she calmed herself, and crawled over to me, taking something out of her bag. She pulled out a cloth and put some rubbing alcohol on it, then turned to me, while on her knees.

Lightly dabbing my cheek, she stared down at me. Those cold, dull, e/c eyes staring at my cheek, where she shot me. I gulped. "Y/n?" Her eyes shot to meet mine "Hm?"  "I'm sorry."  She looked back at my cheek, cleaning it. "For?"  My eyes stared at her bloody hand, but it wasn't my blood, it was hers. I could tell.

She was injuried?  "For not keeping an eye out on you." She shook her head. "I don't need anyone looking out for me." She stopped cleaning my cheek and went to put the cloth up, I grabbed her hand to stop her.

Her eyes stared at my hand. I pulled her hand over to me and took the cloth, taking her other hand, and cleaning it. She winced slightly when I touched her palm, there was a deep cut, all the way through,. I noticed there was a little bump on the base of her thumb. She stared at it in horror. "Tommy. Knife.." Confused, I handed her a knife. Without even flinching, she started cutting whatever the bump was out.

I originally flinched when I saw the blood.

-

My eyes stared down at the waterfall. The only place I could go to remember our memories. Suddenly, weight on my shoulders caused me to flinch back. Y/n was hugging me from behind, her arms wrapped around my neck, her head resting on my shoulder. "Hey.." My voice was a soft whisper. I was afraid.

Afraid I'd break down if I actually spoke.

Afraid she'd see how weak I'd become.

Afraid she'd leave me.

Her stone cold eyes looked down at the waterfall. "I guess this is the last time we will see each other for awhile." I stared at the waterfall with sad eyes. "Y/n?"  The forest around us was a breathtaking view, but I wasn't focused on them. "Hm?" "Just.. Just promise me you will return.. and soon.."  Everything froze. The birds stopped singing, the waterfall was now silent, the insects stopped chirping, and the wind stilled. She slightly nodded.

"I promise."

--

Her eyes stared down at the bloody object. Her eyes narrowed  and she threw it in the air, keep in mind we are in a moving vehicle, and time seemed to slow as she shot it with her slingshot. She looked down at the bloody seeping from her hand. I pulled her back to me and pressed the cloth to it.

My eyes trailed over to her torso. She had large cuts and scars all over it. She clenched her other hand around her slingshot. She was dead silent. I handed her another of my shirts. This one, like the other, a grey muscle top.

-

Both Y/n and I shot our slingshots, killing an Amish Z each. Addy looked disappointed. "Amish zombies. Really? Really?.." The group discussed it while Y/n cleaned her knife. Mack was fixing the truck. Everyone was out of the vehicle. Doc, Cassandra, Y/n, and I were all in the bed. The first two were talking about what Z's want. I told them my story and saw Y/n's eyes mist up. She laid her head on my shoulder. "I'd say He knew. He trusted you with his life, so he trusted you to do what you thought was right." I gripped my knife tighter hearing her words, trying hard to not cry.

She was right, like always.
