There was a knock at the door so Y/n's smirk disappeared and she became stoic. I walked over and answered it. Murphy looked annoyed to see me. "Where's Y/n?" I pointed behind me with my thumb. He tried to look over my shoulder. I sighed, letting him in. He glanced back at me when he approached her. She was sitting on the couch the wrong way. Her back was on the seat and her legs were hanging over the back. "Hey Y/n." She looked up. "Murphy?" His normal sarcasm wasn't even there. "Uh.. Warren wanted to see you." She swung her feet and did a backflip off the couch rolling onto her feet. "Did she say what for?" He shook his head. She shrugged, walking out the door, not even glancing back.

Murphy grumbled to me while leaving. "Why do you get to room with the only cool girl in our group." I looked back at the empty doorway and closed the door after he exited. I looked over at Y/n's stuff, curiousity overcoming me. Warren wouldn't take long so I'd need to hurry..

I walked into Warren and Cassandra's room. Cassandra was in the bathroom, Warren sitting on the couch. I walked over to her with crossed arms. I rose an eyebrow and she began to speak. "Normally I'd do it, but I need you to clear the floors above us. I need to prepare our next meal, and Cassandra is helping."

"What about-" "I need 10k to do something for me, so you will be going alone." I nodded. "Can do- but what do I tell him? He wont let me leave alone." She smiled motherly at me. "Tell him I need to speak with him in the morning." I nodded and began walking to my room. The door was closed. I furrowed my eyebrow, putting my hand on the doorknob and turning it slowly.

When I opened the door, Tommy had his back facing me and was facing the couch. He turned slowly, his eyes focused on something in his hand. I stepped closer to him and noticed his mouth form a smile. "You kept this?" I walked even closer, so that I could see what it was. I stiffened slightly, seeing what he held.

It was a small steel chain necklace, the charm on it was a small silver deer ankler holding a emerald green stone gem in place. I looked down at the ground. "Yea.. It reminded me of you.."

"I promise." His sad eyes trailed up to meet mine. I smiled one of the rare smiles, to show him I was serious. He held up a long black box, his eyes locked with mine. I looked at the box. "What is-" "its.. Your birthday present." "You didn't have to-" I looked back into his eyes, they still looked sad. I sighed, taking the box and opening it. My eyes widened at the necklace. "It's.. Beautiful, Tommy.. How did you-" He smiled, still a sad smile. "I worked it off with Pa."

My eyes trailed to her. "Why aren't you wearing it?" She looked taken aback, then relaxed. She ticked off reasons on her fingers. "Metal detector, people could choke me, it glows in the dark, Z's latch on, and I didn't want it to break."

I looked down at her. "There is no one that will hurt you while I'm around, and no metal detectors." She chuckled, pulling her ponytail to the side. "Will you put it on me then?" I nodded, still smiling.

I put it around her neck and attached it at the back, the back of my hand brushing against her soft skin. A smile was still etched onto my face. She turned to face me, a small smile on her face. "How do I look?" My eyes scanned over her entire body, "Absolutely beautiful." She giggled. "Oh yea, Warren wanted us to get some rest." I rose an eyebrow. "What for?" She shrugged, moving behind me to dig in her bag. I smiled at her once more before going back to lock the door.
