DIARY OF A WORTHLESS CUTTER
Chapter 6: It Never EndsOliver.
Josh was kissing up my neck as mum made us all supper. By us I mean Josh, Roni, Roni's roommate Skye, All Time Low, You Me At Six, mum and I. Roni was sprawled out on the laps of Jack, Skye and Josh, sketching something out very quickly. I noticed she was wearing jeans, which I have found out is very uncommon. Every time her hips moved in just the slightest way, she winced. Her plump bottom lip was being nibbled on as she sketched, her concentration never faltering from the paper, except every couple of seconds when she would glance at my arm- that wasn't covered by a shirt.
"What cha doing?" I ask, looking over her shoulder, since her chest was in my boyfriend's lap.
"Drawing my next tattoo." She answers with a small smile thrown over her shoulder.
"Ah, cool." I comment, still looking over her shoulder. The drawing she had was quite skilled. I smile, because her tattoo was cool! It's a rose, and the flower was amazingly drawn. Her shadowing was perfectly executed. The petals showed it was newly bloomed, because the center bud was still intact- a few millimeters twisted outwards, signifying it was almost finished blooming. It's stem curved downwards and twisted into a small teardrop shape. Overlapping and ending in stem cut at an angle. Down at the bottom of the paper in girly letters was It Never Ends, making me smile.
"That's beautiful." I say to her, making her head snap backwards.
I didn't realize how close I was until her lips brushed mine. Our eyes widened in pure shock before shooting in opposite directions. Roni fell on the hard wood floor and I hit my head on the hard wall.
"Fucking Skittle cunts." Roni whines, holding her head in one hand and sucking on her palm in pain, I saw tears shining in her now bright silver eyes.
"I am so sorry!" I exclaim, getting down on my knees and taking the small blue haired girl's palm out of her mouth.
"I'm okay." She answers, as Jack gets down next to me and examines her injured hand.
"Your pencil stabbed you! You are not okay!" Jack nearly screeches.
"I'm okay." Roni repeats, louder this time.
"No you aren't!" The skunk haired boy argues.
"I'VE SAID IT ONCE! I'VE SAID IT TWICE! I'VE SAID IT A THOUSAND FUCKING TIMES! THAT I'M OKAY!" She yells, jumping up and jerking her hand away from me.Roni storms up the stairs, and we could no longer see her. Josh is hot on her heels, muttering something about needing comfort. I stand up, regretting opening my mouth. I shouldn't have said anything. Dammit Oliver! Mum walked in, holding a whisk and a bowl filled with something dough-like.
"What in the fuck is going on?!" She demands, glaring at all of us but Skye.
"Um Roni was drawing." I start to explain, picking up the sketch book; when she had fallen her sketch book had fluttered open, and a few drawings fell out.
"Do not touch that." Mum warns as I start to gather up the drawings that had fallen out.
"Why not?" I question, looking up at her in confusion.
"If anything is different in here from how it was before she left Roni will be able to see it. She will go bat shit crazy fixing it and making sure everything is in the exact same angle, position, and spot.I remember a few months after she and Joshua had become close and she came over, she put her binder full of sketching materials on the floor. Then the small girl got it all out, pencils of all sorts, crayons, sharpeners, all sorts of artsy stuff. Butterball, you remember him right? Well for those who didn't know, Butterball was our cat until about a year ago. He took off with like six pencils and a box of crayons. That damn cat, bless his soul, went and hid them all around the house.
When Roni came back, she had left the living room for something in the kitchen- an energy drink, instantly she lost it. Her eyes darkened to black, I knew they weren't contacts because she hadn't been wearing contacts that day. Her natural eye color, the prettiest dark blue-grey that had flecks of gold and green, was very noticeable against her pale skin and bright eyeliner. That day she was wearing a white shirt along with a black tutu and tights with white high-top Chuck Taylors. The only color she wore was her hair, jewelry and make-up.
Roni's lips curled back, making her look like a cornered animal. She started growling at Butterball, and narrowed her eyes. One moment she was standing upright, then the next she was down on the floor; having a stare-down with the huge ebony ball of fur known as Butterball.
The strangest thing happened then. Butterball wasn't ever the submissive type, no matter how big you are, what species or gender- he didn't back down. However, he tucked his fluffy tail in between his legs and dashed off. Not even two minutes later, the cat returned, holding a box of crayons in his mouth. He dropped it where he had found it. Then he left again, repeating the action five or six times." She explains, just as Josh came downstairs, carrying a sleepy looking Roni on his hip like a toddler.
"I calmed her down. She just is on with drawl." Josh explains, brushing some of the indigo locks from her forehead lovingly.
"From?" The room questions.
"I-I h-haven't h-had s-sugar in three months." Roni hiccups.
"HOLY FUCK WHY NOT?!" Jack demands.
"When she's hyperactive, she does stupid things. Like once when we gave her a small bowl of Lucky Charms with a glass of coffee on the side. She didn't sleep for a like three days." Josh says.
"How much coffee?" I ask.
"Half a glass. And it was decaf." Mum chirps.
"Damn." You Me At Six, All Time Low, Skye, and I say in unison.
"See why she hasn't had sugar?" Josh questions.
"She needs sugar or we will have a psychopathic and bipolar girl with blue hair on our hands." Mum announces.
"Mama, it hurts." Roni whimpers in her now thick Southern-sounding Midwest accent, reaching out towards the petite brown-haired woman.Mum walks over to Josh, handing a very confused looking Alex her bowl and whisk before taking the girl in her arms. Roni buried her face into Mum's neck as the brown-haired woman starts rocking her back and forth and cooing at her sweetly. Mrs. Franceschi looks up at us, her blue-green eyes determined.
"Alex. Go finish the pizza. Jack and Matt. Take Josholi with you and go get hellah amounts of her favorite foods. Josh my purse is in the kitchen, take as much money as you need. Zack, Rian I want you two and Skye, to go get her favorite movies. No porn. You Me At Six, get her some more art supplies. Sketch pads, sketching pencils, crayons, sharpeners, and etcetera. Now!" She orders, dismissing us with a wave of her hand.
"J-jack." Roni rasps out, her head no longer in Mum's neck.
"Yeah?" The guitarist asks, brown eyes frantically searching the girl's silver ones.
"C'mere." She demands, pouting her lip out.Jack compiles, shuffling over to her. She smiles weakly and wraps her arms around him. Roni nudges Jack's head up, and connects her lips to his cheek. Soon she pulls away, looking him in the eyes.
"Iwuvyou." Roni says quickly and looks away.
"What?" Jack asks, taking a hand and carefully having her look at him.
"Iwuvyou." She repeats still unable to separate the words.
"Say it slower sweetheart." He instructs.
"Iwuvyou." Roni says slower, yet the words were still jumbled.Jack smiles and kisses her. Before she reacts, he pulls away.
"Again." She pleads.
"What were you saying a few seconds ago?" Jack asks.
"Iwuv you." Roni says happily. He rewards her with a longer kiss. She smiles widely and kisses him back. Yet again, before she wanted him to, Jack again pulls away.
"Mooooore." She begs, batting her lashes.
"Repeat it baby doll." He coos, running a hand through her wavy blue hair.
"I wuv you." Roni murmurs shyly.
"I love you too." Jack croons, and connects their lips again.
