Chapter #1. : My Flower

The African sun was heavily beating down on my fur. I rolled around onto my tummy and faced the red and orange sky. The sun was setting and the intense lighting reflected in my egyptian blue eyes. I nuzzled my face into the soft, pink goats foot flowers and turned to Tiifu. She was relaxing with me. Her fur was silky and biscotti. Her markings were a nude shade. They were unique and I loved the way they made her look all cute. As I observed her coat she met eye contact with me and my heart jumped. Tiifu's eyes were bright green glazed with sweetness and softness. They resembled emeralds, the way they sparkled in the sunlit atmosphere. I was captivated by her kindness. I just wanted to cuddle against her soft fur. Her cute, pink nose. Her perky ears and gleeful jumps when she got excited over something silly. I should really snap out of thinking like this. I felt my face burn in embarrassment. I bit my tongue and turned away. "Isn't it so lovely?" Asked Tiifu dreamily. I plastered on a casual look and made eye contact with her again. "Yeah. Truly." I said. Tiifu peered into the sky with wonder and demure. When had this even began? We were only cubs. Oh great lions... I hadn't ever met any creatures who were interested in other girls. I hope my friends wouldn't call me weird. I brought my flashy claws to my face. This was a tricky situation, that's for sure. "Are you okay, Zuri?" Asked Tiifu. "Uh yeah. I'm just... my face is kinda... achy." I forced in a wave of sweat. "Let me help you! Achy faces are never pleasant. Besides, you're gorgeous. Your face deserves better." Tiifu got up and walked towards me. Gorgeous? Tiifu began to rub my face gently. She used a circular motion to massage and bring relaxation to my muscles. I shut my eyes, calm. "Lady Zuri. You deserve the relaxation in all of the Pride Lands." Tiifu praised me. Oh, how do I respond to that? I squeezed my eyelids shut and tried not to roll over and fill with butterflies. Tiifu made me feel like I wanted to be more sensible. Something about her made me show respect in her presence ever since I had begun feeling this way around her. I wanted to show her that I cared. To my dismay Tiifu removed her paws from my fur. But then she collapsed beside me. She was so close... she smelled of the flowers and the scent that I had grown so comfortable around. She was truly an angel. The desire to nuzzle against her neck was intense. But of course I couldn't do that. So instead the two of us stared up into the sky in silence as one admired the clouds and the other a lion. Sometimes it was scary to consider and expect that my feelings would never be returned. That if Tiifu knew how I truly felt she would be disgusted or she'd decide not to be my friend anymore. But then I would remember that it was Tiifu. She wouldn't treat me like that. Would she?
