"What is it?" The blond haired model asked his father, his father glaring at him in return.
"I feel like there's something you're keeping from me, son. Just tell me whatever you need to already." Gabriel, his father, frowned, crossing his arms in disapproval.
"Well," Adrien sighed, thinking about how to utilize his words effectively. Go ahead, don't be afraid. Tell him you've been engaged with Marinette for supposedly nine months, his thoughts whispered, nearly convincing him to proceed. Regardless of what his mind told him to do, he remained unsure about this entire situation.
"There's a girl, besides Chloé, that I've loved. For.. my entire life.. without knowing it." Adrien finally gathered the courage to confess to his controlling parental figure.
"She has the most beautiful bluebell eyes, glistening blue hair that doesn't compare to the night sky, and the brightest smile, a smile that will forever light up my world." He trailed on, stating his confession from the bottom of his heart. In the midst of this, his father impatiently tapped his foot, waiting for his son to finish dreaming.
"Just say it already!" Gabriel spat in an irritated manner. Adrien was taken aback by his sudden outburst of annoyance and impatience, but he wasn't surprised.
"Her name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Adrien said proudly, but coldly, refraining from breaking eye contact with his so-called parental figure. "We've been secretly engaged for nine months; I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanted, but Chloé isn't for me. I'm twenty-one and I get to decide what to do because it's my life, not yours to control."
The model turned his back on Gabriel, leaving him stunned by his explosion of confidence. Adrien slammed his bedroom door shut, securing his privacy by locking his door.
"Nice, kid!" Plagg whisper-shouted, giving his miraculous holder praise, making Adrien smile, indicating his appreciation for his kwami.
"We need to tell Mari this," Adrien whispered to the cat kwami. Plagg nodded in agreement for once, which gave Adrien the blatant signal to transform.
The blond haired boy peeked outside his bedroom to ensure his father wasn't present in the area. He let out a sigh of a relief once the coast was clear, gently shutting the door once again. After locking the door for the second time, he yelled the words, "Plagg, transform me!"

"I wonder if Chat told his parents about our engagement yet." Marinette thought out loud, her kwami overhearing her miraculous holder's thought.
"What if his parents.. died?" Tikki queried curiously, thinking alongside Marinette.
"He has to have relatives then; grandparents, aunts, uncles— you understand my point. That handsome boy is too happy to have a tragic family past." The bluenette assumed, Tikki somewhat agreeing with her statement.
Suddenly, the two heard something slam against Marinette's window. After their series of freezing, contemplating, and flinching, they slowly turned to see it was Chat Noir.
"Well, at least I can let you roam around freely whenever he's around," Marinette concluded the new advantage of revealing her identity to her kwami with a warm smile.
A few seconds of silence passed between Tikki and Marinette, leading Marinette to shout to the feline, "Come in!"
"M'Lady," he popped through the window, acting like he was tipping an invisible fedora, making Marinette giggle.
"What brings you here today, hmm?" She questioned, in the sweetest tone she could, but she was secretly intrigued by his unexpected appearance.
"Just confessed, that's all; my parents don't mind. We could have a private wedding if you'd wish~." Chat winked, trying to be as romantic as he possibly could, but his girlfriend shook her head.
"Not until we've hit a year in engagement." Marinette's stubbornness was made relevant in that designated sentence. Chat shrugged in agreement, forcing himself to concur with her.
"I understand, I guess. Although, I got you this—" he paused, pulling a small, velvety textured box from behind his back. At that moment, Marinette quickly turned away from him, only to face him again. She felt herself gasp upon seeing the object.
It was an official engagement ring.
