The bluenette glanced at her window. Chat usually visited each night to check the female's status, to note how she was performing with the baby, especially considering she was nearly six months pregnant. The mostly inactive superheroine counted the days before she gave birth and the idea of giving birth to another human terrified her.
Marinette utilized her swivel chair to navigate to her computer's location, swiftly moving the mouse and clacking on her keyboard to access the local news station. She noticed the most recent headline article, the headline reading: "Breaking News In The Last Hour: Famous fashion designer, Gabriel Agreste, is 'agrested' for child abuse."
Intrigued yet frightened, Marinette delved further into the article, desiring to understand what happened. The information within the media read, "According to his son and the crowd at a local VIP party, seven policemen and officials were needed to arrest this fashion sensation; Adrien Agreste's guardian is now our very own Mayor, meaning our 'Chlodrien' couple will not become canon anytime soon. Besides our fantastic social media and internet ship we just mentioned, a trial will be held on February 26th. More details are arriving as we speak, we'll continue to update the situation once we gain more accurate information about it."
Needless to say, Marinette was stunned, but at least Chloé couldn't date Adrien anymore, that's what she considered as the upside of this scenario. Why am I worrying about Adrien? I have Chat Noir to myself, I need to get myself together! She thought to herself, shaking her head rapidly to dismiss any regretful feelings.
"Marinette! Is everything okay? You've been up there for an awful long time!" Her mother yelled from the kitchen area into her daughter's bedroom, presenting her concern for her child.
"Yeah, Everything is fine! Check the radio station, see what's happening!" Marinette responded with a similar tone, relaying her concern with slight hesitance.
Downstairs, Marinette's mother, Sabine, shrugged at her husband, Marinette's father, Tom. They tuned the radio and like Marinette's reaction, they were both surprised. Upstairs, Marinette sighed and closed her laptop, Tikki replied by presenting her appearance from behind her Miraculous holder's computer.
"Sometimes I wish Adrien and Chat were the same person, but how could that ever happen? They're polar opposites from each other. It could never be possible." The bluenette shook her head as Tikki quietly observed her, refraining from spilling the truth.
"You have to make hard decisions in your life, Marinette. If a miracle wanted you to have both Chat and Adrien as the same person, then it was destiny, that would mean you were meant for Adrien all along." Tikki explained to the young adult as Marinette climbed into her bed, stretching in the process.
"Yeah," Marinette yawned. "I wish. Wouldn't it have happened by now?"
"Remember, patience is key." Tikki winked at her, making Marinette giggle in response.
They both glanced at her digital clock displayed on her nightstand, the clock reading ten thirty seven p.m.; Marinette turned to finally face her kwami directly.
"I guess it's pretty late after all, I'm not sure about you, but I'm exhausted." The bluenette abstained from yawning again as Tikki flew onto her pillow, laying near her left shoulder.
She turned off her lamp, pulling her layers of blankets over her chest. "Night night, Tikki. Talk to you tomorrow."
"Night night, Marinette." Soon enough, they both fell into a deep sleep, a sleep that would span until the following morning.

Chat noticed they were both asleep, visibly comfortable in Marinette's bed. He snuck in quietly, silent enough to get underneath the covers with Marinette without disturbing her kwami. Chat embraced her, careful not to hurt the baby, murmuring something under his breath.
"Mari, I think I'm prepared to reveal my identity."
