The blond haired boy whipped his head around and glared at his parental figure, clenching his fists. "Father, you can't instantly separate me from her!" He spat, catching the attention of nearby guests.
"Adrien, keep it down," Gabriel urged with a firm tone, acknowledging the few guests eyeing them with their suspicions.
"It's unacceptable!" Adrien didn't hesitate, yelling at his dad. "You can't simply lock me in my bedroom and force me to attend photoshoots for the remainder of my life; I have dreams, passions, and thoughts, too!" Whispers of wariness arose throughout the room they occupied, a crowd gradually circling around Gabriel and his son, although the majority of the horde kept their eyes on Gabriel.
"I'm not a robot, meaning you can't control how I act or my emotions! Why do you refuse to apprehend my.." the boy paused, catching his breath. He felt tears beginning to swell in his jade colored eyes. "..feelings?" Adrien finished his emotional ramble, dropping to his knees; Adrien's father shared a shocked facial expression along with the mayor.
A domino effect occurred and everyone began to 'boo' Gabriel. Adrien sniffled and wiped away the few tears he managed to shed, gazing at the cluster surrounding his father and him. The booing transformed into the mass demanding the arrest of Gabriel.
There's no way in hell he'd get arrested, the twenty-one year old thought to himself in slight disbelief. Hypothetically, though, I could stay with Marinette, if he does get arrested for that matter. Adrien crawled away from the ring of people, sneaking away to admire the mob of guests. Excluding Chloé and Adrien, it seemed as if everyone surrounded Adrien's father. The demands for Gabriel's arrest easily overrode the booing, yet the sight was amusing to witness.
"Adrien, did your dad actually lock you in a room for the sole purpose of modeling?" Chloé pulled him aside and asked him quietly. Adrien's lone response was a simple nod, something the blond haired girl could effortlessly comprehend.
"I understand now," she responded and in that moment, the doors slammed open and seven policemen enclosed the gathering.
"Gabriel Agreste, step out of the crowd. I repeat, Gabriel Agreste, step out of the crowd." One policeman with a headset commanded, the crowd immediately creating a pathway for the law enforcement officials, revealing Gabriel Agreste.
"Sir, you'll be coming with us. Adrien Agreste's guardian will be the mayor until we can determine your position as a suitable parent." The second policeman handcuffed Gabriel.
"Wait, my company will collapse without my son! My son will also be left in uncaring hands!" His father frantically protested, being dragged out of the dinner's entrance.
"Mr. Agreste, our sponsorship is over and don't worry, your son will be perfectly fine. I'll take care of him— better than you ever did." The mayor responded, pulling Adrien by his side.
I'm literally an adult, why does this even matter? The model mentally questioned, but he wasn't complaining due to his father's treatment. If anything, Adrien assumed his dad deserved this after all he's done to him. The crowd cheered as Gabriel was hauled from the dinner. For whatever reason, Adrien felt a weight lifted off his chest, however, he also felt incredibly guilty.
"Ugh, Plagg!" Adrien groaned, face planting onto the guest bed inside the Le Grand Paris hotel.
"What is it, kid?" Plagg asked, stuffing his face with seemingly unlimited camembert.
"I feel guilty, but I don't know why." Adrien's voice was muffled, but his kwami could still somehow understand what he was saying.
"Do you know where Marinette's house is from here?" The raven colored kwami queried, proposing a potential idea to Adrien. "Go over to her house, she could probably make you feel better. That and she'll give you better advice than I could." Plagg continued with complete honesty, making his miraculous holder smile.
"You're right," he patted his kwami's head, showing his gratitude. "Thanks for the idea. Are you ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." (A/N: Please tell me you guys get this reference—)
