The tapping of my heels down the marble hallway was the only noise in that section of the building. Locked doors were on every side, almost every single one holding a human being in them.
This is where they keep the crazy's, everyone in here either believes that they are fairies or were a danger to themselves and/or others. The doctors always tried to keep everything as quiet as possible, loud noises scare some patients.
Only today, someone didn't get the memo. A loud scream broke out from one of the patients rooms and every doctor, including me ran towards it. Ms. Harper ran out of a room, one that made me falter, Park Jimin's room.
Throughout this whole year has went threw 6 doctors, all quiting one after another. "I quit!" Ms. Harper yelled at Mr. Min, the owner of this whole place, who sighed loudly and pinched the bridge of his nose. That makes 7 doctors now.
Mr. Min is a gorgeous man who rarely smiles, but when he does it's a cute gummy smile. At times like this his smile is rarer than rare.
I slowed my run to a walk as I neared the hypoventilating woman slowly. She ripped off her name tag and thrust it into Mr. Min's waiting hand, before storming away with her long blonde hair whipping angrily behind her.
I was curious about what Mr. Park did now, but I knew better than to ask with him right there. I've never seen the man but from what I've heard from the nurses, he is devilishly handsome. If only he wasn't crazy.
Lost in my own thoughts I didn't hear Mr. Min get closers until he was right in front of me. "How are you today Ms. Jones" he asked while closing Mr. Parks door. "I'm fine, thank you and you?" I asked as he gestured for me to follow him before clasping his hands behind his back.
"I would be fine if Jimin would stop getting rid of my doctors, I'm starting to run low" he said seriously, with one look at him I could tell how irritated he was. "People are starting to refuse to be his doctor" he said and I was slightly shocked, I've never heard of doctors refusing service.
"That's horrible, no doctor should refuse service just because they patient is being difficult" I said even though I could understand why they would refuse Mr. Park.
Suddenly Mr. Min stopped walking and he had a distant look in his eye, before his eyes snapped to mine. "Ms. Jones would you mind being Jimin's doctor?" He asked and I felt my blood go cold, despite the fact that that could never happen.
I contemplated saying no but then remembered the conversation we just had. "I don't mind Mr. Min" I said and I could instantly tell that Mr. Min was very happy with my reply. "Perfect, you'll start tomorrow oh and call me Yoongi"
Next dayI slowly approached the door to the hospital, hesitant to actually enter. Wasting time I paused quickly right in front of the door in order to fix my name tag that had shifted out of place and was slightly crooked. I quickly fixed a strand of my red hair before entering, my pencil skirt not really allowing me to take bigger steps and I was slightly grateful.
Grateful until I noticed that people were staring me, whispering loudly to one another. "That's Park Jimin's new doctor" "well might as well collect all her files so that when she leaves I'll have her things ready".
I raised my head high and looked them all in the eye when I passed, if they thought I was going to be afraid of one patient, they were wrong. Even if he was the one who caused our lack of doctors.
Walking up to the counter I put on my sweetest smile for the glaring old lady behind the counter. "I'm here for Park Jimin's folder" I said and she threw it down in front of me. I thanked her quickly before walking away but not before hearing her mutter that if she has to give that file away again she'll scream.
The ride in the elevator was the longest and shortest I've ever had, and my ears were ringing with how loud the elevator music was in there. The door opened and I stepped out only for a gurney to fill my place. Mr. Seokjin was pushing the gurney, a gurney that had a sleeping man in it, clearly knocked out with a drug.
One glance at the man and I let out a giggle "is Mr. Namjoon bothering you again Mr. Seokjin?" I asked the doctor who just smiled and held up one crooked finger to his lips. Mr. Namjoon wasn't as much as a troublemaker as Mr. Park but he liked to yell.
Usually it's Mr. Taehyung who takes care of Mr. Namjoon, but I guess he called in sick or something. Mr. Seokjin is extremely lucky, he gets the calmest patients, one being the hospitals very own ray of sunshine, Mr. Hoseok.
Shaking my head I started down the hallway towards Mr. Jimin's room, when suddenly an arm shot out of a room, in between the bars on the small window. Room 374, the door read and I glanced at the owner of the arm. Mr. Jeon growled at me lowly before retracting his arm.
Mr. Jeon was a strange one, that's extremely true. One second he thinks he is a bunny the next he will randomly start screaming and scratching at his arms, yelling that "they" are crawling all over him. He has been in here since he was 15 and he just turned 20, the doctors still don't know what "they" are, his doctor recently quit.
Once I was out of his grip, I practically jogged to Mr. Parks room. I unlocked the door and pulled it open slowly just in case he tried to get out. When nothing happened I walked in slowly, the room was dark and lifeless. The only color in the whole room was a small stuffed animal on his bed that he named Chimmy and a puff of orange in the corner of the room.
I thought the room was empty for a second until the orange puff began to move and shift, I walked to the window and opened the blinds slightly, but enough to see the outline of a boy. I opened it more until a streak of light flashed across the floor, I could see and that was all I wanted.
I heard the door slam closed and I whipped around, only to see he didn't escape, he only closed the door and sat on his bed, holding Chimmy close to his chest. "So you're my new shrink, I wonder.....how long it will take to make you to scream"
