Chapter 36

"I need a drink!" Harper said after we had taken our class photos; we would forever be Easton High class of 2012.

"Wanna dance?" Claire asked me daringly.

If she thought I wouldn't, then she was definitely in for a surprise!

"Do you mind?" I asked Jules who was sitted next to me in the temporary lounge that had been set up.

"Then you can dance with me next," she said smiling now that it wouldn't be suspicious.

"Where are you taking my date?" Harp asked arriving with our drinks as I led Claire to the floor.

"I'm stealing her!" I said towing her to the dancefloor.

"You don't seem to mind what I am," I said turning to face her.

"My sister's not straight," she said putting her hands round my neck. "I sort of chose to understand her rather than lose her."

"It's a bit hard," I said holding her waist. "Accepting yourself as being different in a not-good-way."

"But it's your choice."

"It doesn't make it any easier."

We danced for two whole songs just talking and then it was time to dance with Jules.

There were stares of all types from curious ones to shocked ones. But none of them mattered -I was dancing with girls! Not exactly breaking news.

"I wish we could always be like this; free," I whispered.

"We will when we leave here," she said brightly as her thumb brushed my neck.

"Just you and me."

"Just us," she said closing her eyes longingly.

"Forever."

I couldn't believe it; but we would be free in a matter of months.

The party went on and it was a perfect goodbye to high school. I even danced with Harp -who had two left feet!

It was a great night.

"Kiss me beneath milky, um, what?" Jules asked unable to complete the lyrics as she gulped on champagne.

"Twilight?" Harp asked stealing the bottle and taking a mouthful.

"This is our stop," I said pressing the buzzer for the driver.

"You're not going home?" Harp asked.

"Not tonight!" I said opening the door when the limo stopped and as Jules took one last gulp.

"It was a good idea for us to get a hotel room rather than go to my place," Jules said sliding the key card over the censor.

"I know," I said smirking at her. "I didn't want anyone imterrupting us tonight; come on it's prom night!" I said walking in and shutting the door behind me.

"You also feared my mom might catch us doing something not straight. She's actually onto us," she said tossing her purse onto the leather loveseat next to the coffee table and untying her hair from the tight bun it was in previously.

"She isn't on to us!" I denied falsely remembering the look of confusion that swam her face when she found us hugging and kissing in Julie's room. I mean, she didn't even knock and the hair-caught-in-bra-hooks excuse; that was pretty lame and the only way to explain why Julie wasn't wearing her top in the first place!

"Whatever you say," she replied pulling me to her.

"I say that that secret drawer of yours will make a better dead give-away," I replied pressing my lips against her neck.

She giggled. "The double enders? She'd probably find it easier to believe I have a freaky boyfriend, than that I use them... appropriately." She whispered hotly before her lips found mine.

I felt my head grow light and my blood begin to boil as we stumbled towards the bed with my fingers buried in her hair and her tongue somewhere down my throat.

"What tha!" I swore as I tripped over one of her discarded louboutins. "Keep your ankle-breakers to yourself!" I admonished playfully pushing her onto the bed before kicking off my boots.

"I brought a bottle of tequila," she said wagging her shapely eyebrows and moving her bent legs open and shut like a butterfly's wings.

I walked back to where she had discarded her purse and took out the bottle among other, er, things that I tossed to the bed.

I shut my eyes tight as I felt the tequila hit the spot.

"Bring it over!" Jules whined pouting like a spoil brat.

I gave her the bottle and she took a huge gulp before shaking her head afterwards dramatically. "How do you not feel the burn?" She asked her eyes tearing up.

"I do, but I like it. It's the same with how you can wear five inch heels the whole day while I can't."

"Kiss me," she said holding her arms open for me with the bottle clutched tightly in her left hand.

Being the great partner that I was, I obliged her until the bottle fell onto the carpeted floor. Unfortunately, almost a half poured out before I picked it up and downed the rest of it. (It really got me wondering what my liver looked like as it burnt down my oesophagus as it went).

We took turns pleasuring each other as it was, and I was pretty sure my buzz had set in when there was a knock on the door.

I groaned and Jules donned a robe as she went to see if it was room service.

As soon as she opened the door, I heard her gasp and then there was a loud bang before a soft thud sounded.

I sat up quickly trying to gather my wits about me and cover myself, before my eyes fell on him and the barrel aimed straight at me.

"Go ahead Frank, take the life you gave me," I spat at him before he pulled the trigger.
