Laught she, eyes blinking with tears withheld

for lengths of solar solitude Earth-round

as epiphany dawns at hands she clasped on her chest;--

and spake she clearly, dearly, loudly, proud:

"To think we met with both eyes closed for long

And never yet come close to even greet

each other, or to come around our names—

the fact that we stand here is hence, to say,

in a way, miraculous—in the very least."

Of course! Yet here is clearly mere a year,

but certain was his voice as he replied—

"I am not a vaudevillian man,

nor shall I here be a playwright galore;

my arts are diminished in every word—so sore!—

but if it be possible for you and me to be

about and around, spending our eternity

without a moment's hesitation or delay:

my body and mind and soul for you I'd lay!

O lassie, o lassie, do answer me with glee;--

hast thou ever felt this feeling such of me

this deathless pounding of two hearts' soliloquy,

rebound—rebound—rebound and doob-da-dee!

I'm losing count, oh what means one-two-three

when littlest things are jumping shamelessly—"

Blank verse! 'xclaim'd he, his fist afloat to me—

Blank verse! 'xclaim'd he, his shoes slip'd on the floor—

Screw it! Lads and lassies! Show your feet!

Let's dance this night, you drunkards, 'tis our feast!

No rhymes or games shall entertain this man

and woman united by a little lisp'd

words of promise, giggly, truly spoken,

of love.

—Blank verse for Rin,

Marlovian verse in

iambic pentameter.
