the next morning, i walked into the squad room expecting to see ella already there.
i was early as usual, but she's usually a lot earlier then me sometimes. i figured she had to meet barba about a case or she was running late.
last night confirmed what i knew i had been feeling for a long time; i was falling for ella. how could i not? she was beautiful, smart, and hell of a personality.
i'd be stupid not to feel this way. the problem was i had to bury it down, at least for now. we're partners and i fear, if i confess she won't feel the same way.
i sat down at my desk and begun working as everyone piled into the squad room.
half hour later, there was still no sign of ella. fin even made it before she did. that never happens.
"is ella not coming in today?" amanda asks.
"she told me she was."
"maybe she got sick?" fin suggested.
i call her, but she doesn't answer her phone, so i left a voicemail.
liv walks in as i hung up and she looked to ella's desk.
"where's russo?"
"we thought maybe she called in sick." rollins said.
"no? i thought she would've called carisi."
"i just left a voicemail, but i'll call again."
i called her phone again, no answer.
"nothing." i say.
"okay, someone call barba, ask him if he's spoken to her this morning. carisi, come with me and see if she's home." liv says.
"already ready sergeant." i say ,rushing to get my coat and practically running to the car as olivia tried calling her as well.
i quickly drove over to her apartment and double parked on the street as me and olivia run inside her apartment building.
when we got to her apartment door it was shut, but i noticed a little blood on her doormat.
"ella? are you in there?" i yell, pounding at the door.
there was no answer so liv motioned me to bust the door open, which i did with no hesitation.
