Kaede's POV

It's 7pm.

It's pretty early to go to bed, but I really needed the sleep.

And so did Shuichi.

I'm gonna sleep next to him...

I can feel my heart start to pound.

"Kaede, make sure you actually get sleep instead of I don't know, make out with Shuichi?" Maki tells me as I leave our room.

"I swear! It's not like that!" I assure her, "It's not like you and Kaito wouldn't do that!"

"Do what?"

Kaito was at the door.

"Agh!" I was startled.

"Have fun with Shuichi." He tells me as we cross paths.

I'm not gonna reply to that.

I knock on Shuichi's door.

Shuichi opens the door.

"Hey...!" I greet him.

Kaede, act normal sweetie.

"Welcome to my room...!"

Shuichi pauses.

"That's what I'm supposed to say, right?" He awkwardly laughs.

I set my things down.

"Woah... this place is a bit..." I start to say.

"Blame it on Kaito..." He tells me, "W-what side of the bed do you want?"

"Your choice...!" I wave my hands at him.

"I'll take left..." He tells me.
....

Silent again.

Agh, we're not getting anywhere!

I slide into the bed.

Shuichi joins me.

"S-shuichi, do you want me to use a separate blanket or is this fine?" I ask him.

Omg Kaede why.

"Y-your choice. I don't really mind sharing..."

I don't either...

I turn away from him,

"Good night Shuichi..."

"Night..."

I really hope we can sleep tonight.

But that's not what I'm mainly hoping for.

Huh?

I turn over to look at Shuichi.

He's sleeping.

It's 4am.

Did he talk in his sleep?

Is he dreaming about me?

I peer over to get a closer look.

Tears.

He's crying?

On instinct, I embrace him.

Maybe... it'll help him in his dream...
