Kaede's POV

Maki and I took a room, fortunately it's next to Tenko and Himiko's, and in front of Shuichi and Kaito's.

We're just silent, changing into our pajamas.

We... never really talked when... I was still there.

So, it's time for us to start!

"Hey, Maki," I start, "We never really talked, right?"

She replies with a simple nod.

"Well, I think it would be nice for us to get to know each other better!" I state.

"You don't have to be so formal..." I hear her mumble.

I cover my mouth, "Was I..?"

"Yep"

"Hmm... well... how was everyone... I was able to watch you all on the television... but how did it feel... staying there? How was Shuichi...?" I say while climbing into bed.

It was one big shared bed, I took the right side.

Maki also gets in, "Right after you... "died" he was mourning. Kaito helped him and became his new "buddy""

She continued, "Later on, they invited me to their workouts. I asked Shuichi a question about you once. I asked, "Did you really like Kaede?" He answered, "That's not something you can ask me now...""

I felt myself blushing.

"That's what you wanted to hear right?" She says with a slight smile.

"Aghh you've found me out!" I smile to her.

I can feel our bond getting stronger.

Kaito and Shuichi... they really were able to help Maki.

"How about you and Kaito? How much do you really like him??" I smirk.

"We're not going to... talk about that idiot!" She turns away, red.

"Ahaha well, we will one day, guaranteed!"

"You're confident, aren't you?"

"I guess you can say that!"

"Kaede, is there a piano here?"

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

Maki turns back to face me, "I'd like to hear you play."

"Really...? Of course!"

She smiles, "Okay, I'll go to sleep now. Good night, Kaede."

"Good night" I tell her.

Maki... I'm so proud of her.

She came so far, through and through she's coming out of her shell.

I can't wait for morning!
