"If Kirova has been doing this since she got here. Then she has stolen millions of dollars. Is there any way that we can run an audit of all of the academy's accounts without her finding out?"

"With her here, that's not very likely. But if we could get her off campus for a few days. Then yes, we could do that."

"Leave that to me." Abe told her as he started dialing the phone that he'd taken from his pocket.

(APOV) Abe

Ring... Ring... Ring.

"Hello?"

"Mother, its me."

"Oh Abe, how are you son?"

"Well, I have had quite an eventful day so far mother."

"Oh really, why is that?"

"Well, as you know, I was in New York on business for a few days. This morning, before moon rise, I got a phone call. But you will never, in a million years, guess who that phone call was from." I looked at my daughter with a smile, as she sat in Dimitri's lap.

"Who was it Abe?"

"It was Rose."

"Rose who Abe?"

"My daughter Rose."

"What?!!" I could just see her, suddenly standing up from where ever she had been sitting.

I laughed, "yes mother. My little girl found me."

"That is wonderful Abe. Where is she? Is she alright? Where has she been?"

"One question at a time mother."

I laughed again.

"She is in Montana, at St. Vladimir's Academy. As it turns out, when Janine stole her from me she brought Rose here to the academy and abandoned her. She signed away her paternal rights, making Rose a ward of the academy. So, for the last twelve years Rose has been abandoned to the academy. Janine has never voluntarily visited, and the only person on campus that knew I was her father hide that fact, not only from Rose, but also from me."

"Wait, are you telling me that someone intentionally hid my only granddaughter and kept her from us?!!!"

"Yes, mother."

"Who and why?!" My mother demanded furiously.

"The who would be the headmistress, Ellen Kirova. As for the why, money apparently. A least that is all that we have been able to ascertain so far."

"Explanation please."

"I know that you are aware of the stipends that the academies are given to provide for their wards."

"Yes."

"Well, Rose never received any of the money allocated for her. She was given a bare minimum of clothing, at the beginning of each school year. There was never an account opened for her at the on-campus store. To obtain the bare necessities of life such as shampoo and soap. Rose had to resort to stealing from the academy supply room just to obtain those items. Because Kirova would not let her have anything that she needed. She always told Rose to either 'make due or do without.'"

"Uhh huh, no way. No way in hell, does she get away with this. Hiding my granddaughter and stealing money that was meant to take care of her. No fucking way!!! Ooops, sorry I didn't mean to say that word."

"It's all right mother, I understand your language completely. The reason I am telling you this over the phone instead of in person. Is that I need to get Kirova away from the academy for a few days. I want to have an audit, of all of the academy's accounts, for the last fifteen years run. I want to find out what the extent of this is. I already know that we are not the first family that she has hidden dhampir relatives from. There are at least seventeen more dhampir that she has hidden from their moroi families in the past. Families that actually wanted them. And over fifty other wards that she has stolen money from."
