Chapter 54

"Roza, mama can't afford something like that."

"I don't expect her to. Since you, I and the lot that came with us are going to be eating the lions portion of the food. Then I intend to buy not only the freezer but the food that goes into it. I want accounts set up here, at the butcher shop, at the green grocers, at the fruit and vegetable stand, at the local hardware store and at Sears. And anytime that anything is needed, be that food, clothes, furniture or repairs I want it done and for the bills to be sent straight to me."

"I..."

"Please, Mitya. It would make me feel a lot better about us all staying at mama's instead of getting us our own home. At least for now. And even when we do, the bills are still to come to me. Your family raised me for the first four and a half years of my life, Mitya. And this is something that I need to do. Please understand that."

She hadn't left me a leg to stand on to refuse her and she knew that.

"All right, I will call Danila and ask him to deliver a freezer and have it installed before we get back."

"Make it two large freezers, Also, I want them to deliver and install a very large rack of shelving in the garage. Just in case we get more food than will fit in the house, that doesn't have to be kept cold."

"All right baby. I'll call him now and let him know."

"Thank you Mitya, thank you sooo much."

"You are welcome baby."

Roza took the list and got everything on it, plus several hundreds of dollars of stuff that wasn't on it, as I spoke with Danila. He promised to have the two freezers and the shelves delivered and installed within the hour. I told him that we would come by and pay for everything before the close of business today.

When I hung up, I told Roza, "all right babe that is done. What else would you like to do?"

"I want the guys to take the food back to the house, put it all up, then we will get a cab and do the other things that we spoke of. Also, what other types of stores are in town that any member of your family shops at?"

"The baby store, and we need to go there to get all the things that our babies are going to need as well."

"Ok, how about we rent a U-Haul truck and do all of that today. We can also do our, CHRISTmas and birthday shopping for the rest of the year, while we are at it. I would also like to set up accounts in every single shop and store that you even think that any member of your family might go into."

"All right baby, we will try to get it all done today. And if not, then we can work on it some more tomorrow and the next day until we get it all finished."

"Thank you."

"Of course, baby, anything for you. I hope that you already know that?"

She smiled, "I do lyubov moy, I do." (my love)

When we finished in the grocery store, the green grocer, the fruit and vegetable stands and the butcher shop we sent the guys back to the house with their haul.

Roza and I both knew that mama wouldn't fuss at the boys and Mia. She would wait until Roza and I returned before she started fussing and arguing.

We got every type of food that you could possibly think of, except for fresh seafood. We couldn't get that because there would be nowhere to put it. But we did get frozen seafood, as well as getting every type of steaks that not only the grocery store but also the butcher shop had. And she didn't just get one or two of each one, oh no. She got at least twenty-five of each one.
