"Thank you, Dimitri."

He nodded.

"Eddie, Mason and Mia please forgive me for the way that I behaved. I never wanted to hurt any of you, you guys are my family and I love all of you." She was sobbing again.

"I think I speak not only for myself but for the boys as well. When I say that your behavior from this day forth will show all of us your true intentions. And hopefully, as Dimitri and Rose said, someday we will all be able to be friends again. But you hurt us all with the way that you acted Lissa and that is going to take some time to heal. But today is a start in the right direction with that."

Dimitri, Mason, Eddie and I all nodded in agreement with Mia's words.

"Thank you all, and I promise all of you that I will do everything that I possibly can in the days and years to come to deserve your forgiveness."

"That is all that we are asking for Lissa." Dimitri told her.

"I understand, thank you."

"I would also like to apologize for the way that I acted. I should have been trying to figure out what was going on with Lissa. Instead, I was doing whatever it took just to get her to stay with me, and that was very very wrong of me. So, I am sorry too."

"Christian, we realize that before you and Lissa fell in love. That you were pretty much alone in the world, because of what your parents did. And that you were afraid that if you didn't agree with everything that Lissa said and did that she would leave you and that you would once again be alone. But that is no excuse, at least Lissa was under a compulsion spell part of the time. So, she has a reason for her actions. But what you did was almost just as wrong as what Tasha did."

"I know, and all I know to do is to apologize and tell you guys just how sorry I am. It was wrong of me to act that way and I admit that my only excuse was that I didn't want to lose Lissa. You are right Dimitri, I didn't want to be alone again, and that fear consumed me and caused me to act in a way that I never should have. And I am sooo very sorry for that. I was so afraid that Lissa would figure out just how out of my league that she really is and leave me for someone more deserving of her."

"Well, I can honestly say that I know exactly how that feels." Dimitri said which shocked me and we would definitely be talking about that later.

But what shocked me just as equally is that Mason, Eddie and Mia all nodded that they understood and agreed. And even though I didn't nod I did understand and agree because I also worried that someday Dimitri would do the same.

"Let's all just try to put this whole disgusting thing behind us and forget about it. Tasha is in Tarasov, where she belongs, so we don't have to worry about her anymore. Let's all just live our lives and be happy."

"Yes, let's do that." They all agreed.

I raised my glass, "a toast."

Everyone else raised their glasses, everyone but Lissa and I had wine, we had ginger ale instead of wine.

"To family. No matter how crazy they drive you or how much they may hurt you from time to time or make you want to rip your hair out. They are still your family and you still love them."

Everyone smiled.

"To family." We all said as one.

The following Monday Mia started her new position as my executive assistant. And when I was notified that Alberta's flight had arrived and was about to land Mia accompanied me to the airstrip. But I couldn't walk because I knew my fiancée and the rest of my family would have an absolute fit. So, baba sent a limo around for me.
