Natsu had gone back to the warfront after marriage. Lucy was alone in the house they had gotten. She pulled a picture of her husband off of a shelf. She stroked it and whispered:
"Stay alive...."
Lisanna also had her own picture, which she kept as a secret. She pulled hers down, pressed her forehead to it, and whispered:
"Stay alive...."
Natsu was in the office of Washington, answering letters and communication lacrimas. He was growing frustrated with every passing minute.
I have never seen the General so despondent,
I have taken over writing all his correspondence.
Congress writes: "Makarov, attack the Boscan forces."
I shoot back: "We have resorted to eating our horses."
Local merchants deny us equipment,assistance,
They only take Boscan money,
So sing a song of sixpence. He thought to himself, then burned the quill he was using to ash. He picked up a spare and continued writing. Washington threw open the door, flustered.
"The cavalry's not coming." He informed his right-hand man breathlessly.
"But.. Gramps!" This news irritated Natsu further.
"Natsu. Listen, there's only one way for us to win this. Provoke outrage, outright." Washington declared.
"That's right!" Natsu saw some hope in this.
"Don't engage. Strike by night. Remain relentless till their troops take flight." He continued.
"Make it impossible to justify the cause of the fight!" Natsu added.
"Outrun." Washington ordered.
"Outrun." Natsu confirmed.
"Outlast." There was more to the plan.
"Outlast." He nodded in agreement.
"Hit 'em quick, get out fast!" Washington exclaimed.
"I'm fired up!" Natsu stood up, knocking the chair into the desk.
"Stay alive till this horror show is past. We're gonna fly a lot of flags half-mast." Washington commanded.
"Raise a glass!" The four revolutionaries proposed a toast to their fallen comrades.
I go back to Magnolia and my apprenticeship. Mulligan thought to himself.
I ask for Joyan aid, I pray that Joya has sent a ship. Lafayette thought.
I stay at work with Hamilton,
We write essays against against slavery.
And every day's a test of our camaraderie and bravery. Laurens thought to himself.
Natsu thought to himself in front of Washington.
We cut supply lines,
We steal contraband,
We pick and choose our battles and places to take a stand!
And ev'ry day:
"Sir, entrust me with a command!" Natsu begged.
"No." Washington replied.
HE DISMISSES ME OUTTA HAND!
Instead of me....
HE PROMOTES BICKSLOW LEE!
Makes him second in command: Natsu thought to himself with outrage.
"I'm a General! Whee!" Lee proclaimed.
Yeah, he's not the choice I woulda gone with. He thought.
"He shits the bed at the battle of Onibus!" Natsu, Lafayette, Laurens, and Mulligan insulted him at the same time.
"Everyone attack!" Washington commanded.
"Retreat!" Lee ordered.
"Attack!" Washington re-commanded.
"Retreat!" Lee ordered more firmly.
"What are you doing, Lee? Get back on your feet!" Washington ordered the coward.
"But there's so many of them!" Lee defended.
"Is this not your speed?! Hamilton!" Washington summoned.
"Ready, sir!" He confirmed.
"Have Lafayette take the lead!" Washington continued.
"Yes, sir!" Natsu did as he was told.
"A thousand soldiers die in a hundred degree heat!" Laurens witnessed this horror.
"As we snatch a stalemate from the jaws of defeat!" Mulligan elaborated.
"Bickslow Lee was left behind,
Without a pot to piss in,
He started sayin' this to anybody who would listen:" Natsu began.
"Washington cannot be left alone to his devices!
Indecisive, from crisis to crisis!
The best thing he can do for the revolution:
Is go back to plantin' tobacco in Tenrou!" Lee whined.
"OH!" The army screamed.
"Don't do a thing. History will prove him wrong." Washington restrained Natsu by the scarf from burning Lee to ash.
"But.. SIR!" Natsu tried to protest.
"We have a war to fight. Let's move along." Washington convinced him. Or so he thought. The second Washington was out of earshot, Natsu and Laurens discussed the matter.
"Strong words from Lee, someone oughta hold him to it!" Laurens raged.
"I CAN'T DISOBEY DIRECT ORDERS!" Natsu was alit with flame while screaming.
"Then I'll do it.
Natsu... you're the closest friend I've got." Laurens reassured him with a pat on the shoulder, singing his hand.
"Laurens... do not throw away your shot." Natsu seethed.

Teen FictionBack to FT musicals! I could not resist the idea anymore. I'm sorry if this is redundant, but it's Fairy Tail and Hamilton! TWO OF MY FAVORITE THINGS! Also, I should probably rate this mature for swears.
