Lucy was teaching Blaze how to play piano. It was a calm day. Nothing would go wrong.
"Un deux trois quatre cinq six sept huit neuf." She sang.
"Un deux trois quatre cinq six sept huit neuf." He changed the note at "neuf".
"Good! Un deux trois quatre cinq six sept huit neuf." She encouraged.
"Un deux trois quatre cinq six sept huit neuf." He played again, still changing the note.
"Sept huit neuf." Lucy took her son's hands and played with him.
"Sept huit neuf." Blaze repeated.
"Sept huit neuf." Luckily, his mother was patient.
"Sept huit neuf." He still changed the note at "neuf".
"One two three four five six seven eight nine!" He was able to play perfectly in English.
In Natsu's study, he was writing a letter to his sister-in-law. He read it as he wrote:
"My dearest, Lisanna.
'Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day." I trust you'll understand the reference to another Minstrish tragedy without my having to name the play. They think I'm Macbeth, my ambition is my folly. I'm a polymath, a pain in the ass, a massive pain! Madison is Banquo, Jefferson's Macduff. And Birnam Wood is Congress on its way to Dunsinane. And there you are, a whole ocean away! Do you have to live an ocean away?! Thoughts of you subside, then I get another letter, I cannot put the notion away-" Lucy was behind him, and she had one simple request:
"Take a break."
"I'm on my way." He didn't look up.
"There's a little surprise before supper and it cannot wait." She was determined.
"I'll be there in just a minute, save my plate." He asked.
"Natsu-" She was not willing to give up.
"Okay, okay." He finally gave in.
"Your son is nine years old today. He has something that he'd like to say, and he's been practicing all day. Blaze, take it away-" She explained, then started beatboxing as their son interrupted:
"Daddy! Daddy, look!
My name is Blaze,
I am a poet,
I wrote this poem just to show it!
And I just turned nine!
You can write rhymes but you can't write mine!"
"What!" Natsu was brimming with pride for his son.
"I practice Joyan and play piano with my mother!"
"Uh-huh!" He was astonished.
"I have a sister but I want a little brother!"
"Okay!" He glanced to Lucy, whose face read: "We'll see."
"My daddy's trying to start Fiore's bank!
Un deux trois quatre cinq!" Blaze finished the poem with a smile reminiscent of his father's.
"Bravo!" Natsu and Lucy both clapped.
"Take a break." She had a much softer tone.
"Hey, our kid's pretty great!" Natsu evaded the topic.
"Run away with us for the summer! Let's go upstate." Lucy pleaded.
"Lucy, I've got so much on my plate." For some reason, Natsu was desperately trying to escape vacationing.
